Re: What new albums is everyone listening to?

You said no country, but I don't care, someone else may be wondering this.

I got the new Tim McGraw album that came out this week. It's fairly good. It's not like what I'm used to hearing from him, though the title track you'll hear on the radio (Southern Voice) is a bit typical Tim. This album is a bit eclectic, though I'm not sure I'd go as far as to say it's all over the place. Some I like, some not so much, though it's growing on me for the most part. It reminds me of the Dancehall Doctors album in that it's a new path for him.

Another good album that came out recently is Luke Bryan's "Doin' My Thing." It's a lot like his first album, as he carries the same up-beat sound. This one is potentially better, though it's hard for me to say cause I like them both a lot.

The only recent non-country album I've got is the newest Michael Buble album, "Crazy Love" that came out early this month. It was a bit of a let down compared to his last studio release, though I highly doubt anyone on here is even into his style of music.

layne staley died a couple years back of a heroine or methodone overdose. . .i don't know if the guy sounds exactly the same, but he goes out of his way to try to. . .i never have really liked it when a lead singer leaves a band or dies, and gets replaced by someone who tries to sound like them. . .it's like the band is saying maybe they won't notice he's gone. . .i understand why they do it, but i'm just not a fan of it

Jerry cantrell is the whole band, layne staley while a great singer, didn't contribute much. Trust me, with the new singer, there's no difference, cantrell is still the controlling force and inspiration for 90% of that band

not denying that cantrell is the band more or less, but there is a difference in the new album. . .i've been listening to alice in chains since they really came out. . .not sure how i heard their first EP all the way out here in indiana before their first album came out, but i did. . .this new guy sounds alot like staley, but there's just something missing in his voice. . .it's kinda like when you talk to someone and without even discussing certain things, you can tell what kind of life they've led. . .you could tell when listening to layne staley that he lived a hard life (i'm not talking about working in the coal mine hard), and that came through in his singing. . .

Tis a great video! I'm awaiting the new Felt 3 album to come out in November. Right now I'm rotating between Atmosphere- When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold and Jay Z- The Blueprint 3

Blueprint 3 is a good album too. Probably one of the better Jay albums IMO.

Re: What new albums is everyone listening to?

New AIC for sure, been a huge fan all my life...however the "it's not the same without Layne" typical comparison is getting old...it's not Layne and never will be but the new guy Duvall is an excellent fit and Cantrell has always been amazing in whatever he is involved with musically.

I agree! Good album, also got the new Kiss and Ace Frehley with high expectations but was very dissapointed with both, Kiss sounds like early Kiss but without any balls!

Doubt anyone else here is into Primal Fear - 16.6 (Before the Devil knows you are dead) and Firewind - The Premonition but those are both excellent newer discs! Funny also, my buddy emailed me the link to the Rammstein vid a couple of days ago, the lyrics are commical, sounds like something a 12 year old would write.

ps, Layne Staley died 7 years ago!
