What are you guys paying for auto insurance?

Just got my bill in the mail today. $708.00 for 6 months of PLPD. Every time i get it, it gets higher and higher. Its getting stupid. Zero tickets, zero accidents. Hell i've only been pulled over once.

so what are you guys paying, and were are you going through for your insurance.

Re: What are you guys paying for auto insurance?

I can't comment on what I pay as I'm sure I'm much older and in a much different demographic than you. I'm an insurance agent by day and a car guy by night.

If you are ticket and accident free and feel your rates are too high, I'd shop around. Too bad you don't live near me, I'd do my best for you.

Most companies should have similar rates but on occassion, you will see a company get way out of kilt for your situation. It never hurts to check around.

Also, never hesitate to call your current agent tell him/her that you'd like to see if they can give you a better rate.

More than just your driving record determines your rate. Location, vehicles, type of coverage, etc...

$1200 a year for my 00 s10 and 2011 escape. Full coverage on both. But I also have my home owners with American Family. So multi policy discount.

Re: What are you guys paying for auto insurance?

My ZR2 has been $50 a month for full coverage since I bought it.

My ninja has changed a lot, when I first bought the bike it was $90 a month, it dropped every year and now I pay $28 for the same full coverage.

I have 1 ticket 3 years ago.

Re: What are you guys paying for auto insurance?

$25 a month on my 97 taurus, $75 a month on my 90 supra. Liability on both. Only my dads name on the taurus, me and my dad both on the supra. American Family insurance. My parents also have their home insurance through them.

Im only required to have my name on one vehicle in the family. I found in the past its best to make that one vehicle something cheap. I used to have an 83 honda express 50cc scooter. $11 a month with me on it.

Re: What are you guys paying for auto insurance?

$246 a month for my wife and I for:
2001 s-10: full coverage
1997 Accord: Liability only
2004 GMC Sierra Diesel: Full coverage
2002 Camry: Full coverage
2009 Enclosed car trailer: Full coverage

And my coverages are the middle tier of what Gieco offers I think. My deductibles are also middle level, like $200 maybe

When I was 16 I paid $315 a month for just the s-10 for just myself and that was even on my parents policy back then lol. But I did have an accident where Geico shelled out like $14K for so its kinda understandable and at least I got something out of it haha.

Re: What are you guys paying for auto insurance?

the best thing i ever did was add old people to my policy. i was paying out the ass for my girlfriend and i, in our early 20's. i had to add my mom and she dropped the premium $10, i added another car with a 57 year old friend as half owner and it cost like $2 more, only because i added another car. i insure 4 cars total(2 "beaters" and 2 new financed vehicles), all 4 have full covereage with low deductible ($250) and full glass with $0 deductible, with myself, wife, mom and friend all covered, and its $150/month. geico. mom, wife and friend all have good-perfect records, i have a few tickets from years ago and an accident.

Re: What are you guys paying for auto insurance?

For just PLPD on my ZR2 I pay $60 a month through a local company. That's with a clean driving record, and the insurance in my own name, not my parents plan or anything like that. When I was 16 I paid $80 so it really hasn't gone down much.

Re: What are you guys paying for auto insurance?

I'm on my parents insurance, which has their 2012 Hyundai Sonata and my S10. Him being the one who's name is first and i'm an add on. I was going to do my own insurance a couple years ago when i had a jeep, but it was $240 a month. So now with my truck i'm on his and it's cheaper. I don't know how you guys are getting your own for so cheap. Maybe company?

Re: What are you guys paying for auto insurance?

I pay around $180 a month thru state farm for 3 vehicles. Its went up around $60 a month in the last 5 months for some stupid reason, even they cant explain it. Have a 08 Scion TC with full coverage, 99 Sonoma with full coverage plus customization, and a 97 Accord with Liability. Married as well and we both have clean records

You are getting f#cked.. shop around for insurance. I'm right on the border of MI and i know MI is a no fault state so I am extremely careful when I drive there...

That being said I'm the same age as you drive my 88 s10 and I pay 53 a month for about middle of the road PLPD. I would not pay over 100 a month for such little coverage. Switch your company.

Edit: Afterthought. Truck is completely in my name and insured in my name. Hell I bought the truck 1 month after i finally took the friggin initiative and get my damn license

Re: What are you guys paying for auto insurance?

I pay 400 quarterly for full coverage on my Blazer, along with the ability to drive my my Parents F-150 and Town and Country. We put just liability on the Escort for my sister.

It will cost me around 90 monthly to go elsewhere, but I'd rather stay on the insurance I'm on now. I've had 3 tickets so I don't want to bother moving elsewhere along with the loss of coverage when I drive my sisters car since she doesn't have her license yet and my parents want me covered on their vehicles for some reason or another for right now.

Edit: The F150 is gone now, so it should go down quite a bit.
