Totalled Nissan GT- R

stole this from a post on VWvortex....

Quote:
Car is at an auction yard in Nashville and up for sale tomorrow (10/14). Bids are sealed so I can't tell how much it sells for. 349 miles on the clock and damage is estimated at $55,000.

i am sad now...

Those GT-R badges are straight up Pep-Boys specials, they look like they belong on a 95' Civic.

I'd need two hours just to check-in all the parts for the job, nevermind the man hours it'd take to R&I, refinish, and replace everything.

They do sell those badges (knock-off versions) at Pep, Boys, auto Zone, or any place that sells fine ricer products. They're like $5 last time I saw them.

edit: they do almost look authentic:

Yeah, it doesn't look it it was a high speed racing crash. Probally just a simple rear ender on the highway.

Re: Totalled Nissan GT- R

Damn 55k worth of damage? I bet it if was fixable it would be sitting for weeks because they dont even have replacement parts for that thing yet lol .

I was about to say it doesn't look too bad but I'm sitting looking at the 5th pic the both rails are pushed over to the drivers side so that engine has to come out for 2 new rails. Sucks for that guy.

No, Enzo is Ferrari. This is the new Skyline.

And with 55K worth of repair, might as well get a new one. They are only 75k off the lot!

To bad you have to void the warranty to make it perform any where near all the "specs". Polished turd if you ask me. Theres MANY MANY MANY cars I would buy with $80K before that. You can bet your ass. Quit frankly I find it hilarious to see another wrecked.

So your saying Porsche and Ferrari are the same? Riiiiiight. I know the GT-R is a monster car that in capable hands can keep up with a number of cars two, three, even four times its price. However, it is still a Nissan. Nothing against Nissan's, one of my dream cars is a R34, but when you walk up to a girl and she asks what you drive, if you say a Nissan, a Porsche, or a Ferrari, you get 3 totally different responses. No matter what it does on the track, it will not have that same status.

As far as not being able to drive one, I agree. I use to work in Giest, Carmel, and Noblesville, and saw plenty of banged up sports cars that obviosly someone who should not have been driveing them was behind the wheel.
