Re: The New Firearm Thread

hey 1fast4by, you mind sharing what you paid for your s&w 5906? i have been looking for one since you posted yours back in january. I have seen them online for around $3-350 but i am not comfortable with purchasing without being able to hold it in my hand. i found one at a local shop for $500 with a case and 2 mags and is said to be in like new condition(i havent seen it yet just spoke over the phone). does that seem reasonable or not?

Re: The New Firearm Thread

Mine was still NIB believe it or not. I hade a friend of mine look for the right one.. took almost a year. It was absolutely flawless. I payed $450 out the door.

You can not go wrong with a 5906. They are ridiculously reliable and really easy to shoot because of the weight there's practically zero recoil. All the 3rd Gen Smith's are great.

Re: The New Firearm Thread

Nice pick up. I have the LCRx with the exposed hammer. Its my backup carry in case anything ever happens to my Sig. For now, it gets night stand duty. Overall great little revolver.

Re: The New Firearm Thread

A long rifle .30 caliber cleaning kit will do the trick... (7.62/.308 will also work)

Re: The New Firearm Thread

Mother in law bought me a S&W M&P 9c for my birthday a couple weeks ago. Shoots great, fits my hand great and has become my daily carry. Took a couple days to get used to a double stack on my back(had been carrying Taurus 709slim) but now it's normal just like the single stack was. Sorry no pictures of it at the moment.

Re: The New Firearm Thread

Not new, but new parts. Started life as a bone stock rock island 22 tcm. Now it has custom cerakote and just added a full length guide rod and comp. The 22 TCM has almost no recoil in the 1911 platform and now its on rails, the comp needs cerakoted though.

Re: The New Firearm Thread

I picked up a m&p9 a few weeks ago PPT and came across this little bag under the foam in the case. Can anyone tell me what they could be from? It doesn't appear to be for the m&p, but I could be wrong. Also bought an apex competition aek from the same guy, but these don't appear to be part of that kit either.

Figured out that those are magazine disconnect parts. No one, I'm sure, cares but I always like to follow up on stuff that I find answers to.

Re: The New Firearm Thread

I bought and sold several before landing on, and staying with this one. I started with a Vortex Strikefire, then an EO 512, then went Aimpoint pro, and I have to say this one just gets the best of all of them. Plus I LOVE having 2 dots Im sighted in perfectly at 2 different ranges (300 and 100) And even as close as 25 yards im still right on center mass..

Re: The New Firearm Thread

I'm really tempted to buy an XD, or XDmod2 or something. I don't want an XDS because I preferably want a double stack.

Anyone here conceal a double stack? I'm a little wasted dude, so I feel like I could comfortably get away with it.

Re: The New Firearm Thread

I rotate between a Roger LCR .357, and a Glock 26. I'm not a fat guy, but I'm also not skinny wasted (6'1" & 225lbs)

I have no trouble at all with mine in a Crossbreed super tuck. It's comfortable all day, even moving around in a shop, I would definitely recommend, I believe that's what beandip carrys his full size Glock 22 in as well, they tuck that well...

Re: The New Firearm Thread

I'm a average sized guy, 5'11" 195. I carry a M&P 9c double stack in a alien gear holster. Tried it out because of the lower price point and have been using it for years. It conceals well and haven't had any customers question me yet.

Re: The New Firearm Thread

I played around for a few hours on mycasebuilder and ended up with this.

It was $70 for the foam but it came out really nice.

I also got a supertuck deluxe holster as recommended by a few and its really comfortable. Now I just have to figure out my 'good cause' to get a ccw. Stupid California...

Where'd you get the stainless slide from? I thought all M&P's were black.

Re: The New Firearm Thread

It's the Talo edition with a nickel boron coating. Both the slide and barrel were supposed to be coated, but for some reason, I have a standard black barrel. S&W did updates on their barrels a couple years ago so I assume the previous owner upgraded for the better twist rate in the newer barrel.

Re: The New Firearm Thread

Ah cool. Well it looks badass. I like the foam too. I have a S&W Sigma 40 (basically the red headed step child to the M&P lol). It has a stainless slide but I'd like to have a black one. Do you know of any company that makes one? Thanks man.

Re: The New Firearm Thread

I wouldn't know who makes one. Could maybe look into a cerakote coating but if it was me, I'd list it for ppt and look for an m&p or something you like better.

Well I want to keep it because it was a gift. What's involved in the cerakote process?
