Re: The New Firearm Thread

went to the gun show yesterday. was so amped to fianly go and to get a peep sight for the 336 and possibly find a deal on a gun... lets just say, ive never seen the show this bad before. only one person had peep sights but they were really old and not for my gun and only found like 2 deals that i didnt have the cash for. everything else was full retail or marked up even higher. all ammo was retail unless it was reloads which were still expensive. it was just sad.. i think the worse part was that there were alot of people and all of the booths were crammed in two buildings and you could barely walk around without squeezing by people.

The KSG is a lot of fun, mine has not had any FTF or FTE issues and the overall size and mag capacity is pretty damn awesome.

I paid $840 at a local shop for mine, completely worth that price...I would not pay the over $1200 premiums that some have though.

Re: The New Firearm Thread

Glad to see my thread is still up and running. I have added a few nice pieces to my collection since my last visit. There are some wonderful hunting pics in the last few pictures.

Hope all the other gun nutz are still doing well.

Re: The New Firearm Thread

Picked these two up recently.
First is a Marlin XL7 .270cal, with an Osprey 3x12x50 illuminated range finder scope.
I'm not a big fan of the tall scope mounts, but since it's a 30mm tube, I had to order low profile mounts and waiting for them to come in.
Not a bad package for $300. though

Also picked this bad boy up, it a Remington SPR310 O/U 20ga, came with all four screw in chokes, from skeet to full, again I didn't think it was a bad deal at $375, brand new in the box, never even assembled.
They have a 12ga also, but it didn't have the nickel reciever, so I got the 20.

Re: The New Firearm Thread

That Remington is beautiful!

I'm stuck on old west firearms.

I've been looking at the uberti colt dragoon replicas, I think they would be a lot of fun.

The walker is a cooler gun, but the improvements with the dragoon look like they would be more user friendly.

^walker, dragoon has a latch for the loading lever

would also love one of these...

Anybody have a White Hat holster or know someone that does? I visited their website and really liked what I saw and the fact that you can change out Kydex without having to buy a new backing.

Grandpa gave me this the other day, Ruger 10/22 from 1994. Never been fired before it was given to me.

Now looks like this

Dialed in at 50 yards so far, hoping to get it dialed at 100 yards soon.

if i get another .22 it would either be a henry lever action or a ruger 10/22. theres so much aftermarket for the ruger.

I don't have one but I can't say I've ever heard anything bad about them. Personally I'm a fan of the crossbreed stuff. I carry my Glock 19 in a supertuck everyday.

Re: The New Firearm Thread

After 2 months the gunsmith couldn't fix my model 94. I think he assumed mine was pre-64 but it's a 71.

When he gave it back to me I went to google, and in 5 minutes ordered the parts, and the Winchester works great now.

Here's the Sig Pro I picked up about a week back.

Re: The New Firearm Thread

Old Verney Carron double barrel 16 gauge shotgun that I got from my grandma. It used to be my grandpa's before he passed away, then it sat in there closet for years. He got it when he was over in Germany for WW2. Grandma said he shipped it back in pieces. When i disassembled it i saw a stamp on the metal that said 1890-1900.. was pretty shocked. It's got some wear on the metal but overall it's in good shape. Pretty neat gun.

Looks good! How did you mount that rail on top?

May want to look into a sissy pad for it too. If you plan on putting a bunch of rounds through it the pad will definitely save your shoulder. These guns have some kick.

That stock has an attached 1" rubber pad on it. My friends is still in the wood stock with the metal butt cap. After about 20 shots my shoulder was getting sore. This Sunday we are going to the range that reaches out to 600 yards.

took mine and my friends mosin out to the range yesterday. i cant believe how accurate these things are. we were consistantly hitting a 2'x2' sqaure target at 550 yards with iron sights and also hitting clay pigeons at 300 yards also with only iron sights

I told the previous owner that it was a trash gun because he wanted me to find him a magazine for it. I told him the mag would cost more than the gun is worth so he sold it to me. I bought the mag for $30 and a box of ammo for $14. Its going on gun broker for $300.

It helped he was hurting for money. The gun is on the other hand really solid. Liking the double action trigger. Might "carry" it before I try to sell it.

well its a WW2 DP-28 LMG that was recreated from the old parts kits with torched recivers. a company completely remade the receiver and made it fire in semi auto only but kept the origional parts and fit as it should (meaning the barrel screwed off in WW2 so they made it screw off now). comes with 4 original magazines(look like frisbees), sling, cover, and a really nice presentable wooden storage crate.(could pretty much shelac the crate and it turns into a display case). only parts they made were a bolt change i believe, new receiver, and the receiver heat shield had to be remade as they all got torched way back when. stock, barrel, tripod, trigger group, magazines, sights, (pretty much rest of the gun) is original WW2 Polish origin.

so its got the historical part behind it, the rarity behind it as there arent/arent going to be many more made, and the fact its a semi auto machine gun that shoots 7.62/54r ammo...(same as what all the mossin nagants shoot so its cheap to fire right now - will spend a bunch more and stock up on ammo)

so way i see it 10 years down the road when no one has one and or hard to find, its the next best thing to an original ww2 one which is already nearly impossible to find and well over 30K for it IF it can be found and IF you can own a full auto machine gun in your state...(not as bad as the allied BAR machine gun tho...)

Re: The New Firearm Thread

my roommate bought a Sterling 9mm submachine gun, it's really fun to shoot!

It's an early model, looks like the ones the British used in ww2.

It's has the original switch that says Full-auto, but the gun was modified to be semi-auto only.

He paid just under $400.

Breaching bank vaults or what? I figured a 12ga would be overkill for breaching but a .50? Goodbye door, wall and wall behind that..

^very gentlemanly looking 1911.

I have a friend with a similar double-barrel like blake posted , he bought it and it was already sawed off as short as a handgun. That thing kicks! It gives you sore fingers pretty quick.

My little .38 derringer took a chunk of my roomates thumb last time we went shooting, it actually kicks pretty hard too- there isn't much to hold onto.

He's a gunner in the army, so I had a good laugh at a derringer getting a piece of him.

He's a gunner in the army, so I had a good laugh at a derringer getting a piece of him.
ohh yea another hard to handle is that home defense pistol that holds 2 .410 shells (over under style) friggin handle is smooth polished wood and MAYBE 3" and curved to hold on to....deff meant for women haha i maybe got 3 fingers around the handle
