Re: The New Firearm Thread

It says it shoots 9mm in the overview. Either they screwed up or you can swap a 9mm barrel into it. Still not worth over a grand imo.

If I were to ever get a 1911 I would most likely go with a Rock Island or Colt.

i have never owned one, but i have shot it. i wont lie it does kick a lot, but then again what .45 doesn't kick! Their good guns, its just that a lot of people don't know about them. a 1911 for that price is a steal. and you already saw the torture it can hold.

Re: The New Firearm Thread

so the gun show is coming to town. going to go on the 20th of may. been to it a couple of years ago and it was kinda crappy. just a bunch of indian guys selling tazers and peper spray and the dealers selling shit for too much money. im looking for a peep sight for the 336. think id be able to find one there or should i just order it from midway? also what else should i look for? probably cant buy any handguns unless i can do it under the table with some private sellers (i turn 21 on the 30th of may so i dont see why not). but what are things to look for and to stay away from?

Ive also seen a tube extender so i can have 8 shells instead of 3 and a shorter barrel so its i belive 20" instead of 26...

any recomended brands to buy/avoid when looking for aftermarket mossberg 500 parts???
I bought the Mossberg 18.5" barrel for my 500A and recommend it for that situation. Hogue makes an overmold stock with a shortened LOP that I would use. I've kept my stock walnut furniture and love it, but don't think that's what you're going for.

I love my Mossberg 500a with the 18.5 barrel and pistol grip. I have just always been a fan of shot guns.

Re: The New Firearm Thread

i have to ask... is this your first experience with a 22? all the 550, 525, 333 etc, vaule packs are packaged like that, and that's also how i store my ammo, it's easier for me to load up mags with loose ammo
what intrigues my is that those rounds aren't plated like federal and winchester value packs.

BTW blazer is made by CCI, one of the best rimfire ammo manufactures

i got my self contained, portable reloading bench set up, and i am injection molder a kind of rubber bullets(gluelits) right now

Yeah unless you are buying the small packs for a couple bucks (they organize in a tray) then you just get them loosely packed into the box.

BTW: Gun Show today nearby, I'm keeping my eye out for an IWB holster for concealment. I came across a Foxx leather holster online and they want $40 so if I can find one for less, then I might purchase.

I like my crossbreed supertuck. Other companies have similar versions, possibly for less but crossbreed stands behind their products. I recommend them for an IWB holster.

good tip for getting the cosmoline off the wood parts is to use simple green on a rag or paper towel and wipe it down.

COMPLETELY disassemble the rifle and bolt down to basic components and give it a very thorough cleaning, they loved to pack it in everywhere...

oh and where did you get those marlin 795 clips? for a good price? i dont wanna pay dang near $20 each for more...

Thanks for the tip. I wasn't sure yet what I was going to use to wipe down the wood. I had the wife pick up a portable steamer today so I can sweat some of the oil out of the stock. I think I'm going to soak all the metal parts in a bucket of degreaser for awhile and then scurb them with a toothbrush.

even though it's a foreign job, don't over look taurus... i have a fully dressed pt1911ar and i love it. price wise it's between the colt and rock island. i've never owned a colt 1911 but the taurus out performed the rock island in every aspect. i also have a pt111 as a ccw and it too is a well balanced weapon

Re: The New Firearm Thread

If you want to know what is hot in the gun industry you have to get to the annual Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoors Trade (SHOT) Show held every January. Manufacturers, retailers and even we members of the press all descend on Las Vegas to see what products will dominate the market in the coming year.

Earlier this month, the 2011 SHOT Show gave us a pretty clear view of what cool new guns to expect this year. Here is a sample of just a few of the great new guns coming out.

Ruger LC9

The Ruger LC9 is an example of the new trend in concealed carry firearms: thin, single stack 9mm pistols. The LC9 is a double-action only, hammer-fired pistol that is slightly larger than its very popular .380 ACP cousin, the LCP.

The sights on the LC9 are better than most pistols of this size, using a three-dot system. Barrel length is a touch over 3”, width is less than one inch and the unloaded weight is about 17 ounces.

Recoil on the LC9 is only marginally snappier than the LCP, but offers the benefit of a “full-power” cartridge. Expect to see a “street price” of less than $400.

1973 30/30 - never fired

Finally, my special Springfield 1911. It was my second pistol I ever bought. Got it as a stock Springfield GI, besides the STI trigger, and Ed brown full length guide rod, and hogue grips, everything else is Wilson combat. Only factory Springfield pieces is frame and slide. It was my first build, and have put well over 3000 rounds through it, not one hiccup.. Ill likely have this thing for the rest of my life

I sold my AR last month, waiting for my Rock river operator 2 to arrive hopefully in the next few weekss.. Woo!

Thanks! I love it! I guess it was given to my dad back in the 70s by his father in law, who got it from his grandma who carried it for twenty years since it was new lol

It's definitely a women's gun, but it's still cool to look at. I haven't fired it, but I took it apart for the first time since the 70s, it still looks pretty good inside, considering its age. Hopefully take it out this summer to try it out...

Re: The New Firearm Thread

So I decided since I was mowing the lawn today that I would open carry my Sig on my side. Had no problems with cops or people freaking out, just got a couple of weird stares. It's the first time I've openly carried anything (legal in ohio)...with one in the chamber to boot.

The area I live in isn't all that bad, I just like exercising my rights

Re: The New Firearm Thread

Good for you man. It is my hope that one day the entire country will have open carry but I don't see that happening in Commiefornia or Marxistchusettes.

Went to the range this past weekend and shot my dads 357 but only 38spl and my .40.

Re: The New Firearm Thread

^^^ commIefornia lol!

I went down to Cali last week, I hold multiple ccw permits. So where my Utah permit isn't recognized, my Arizona permit usually is, felt pretty weird at Cali state lines unarming myself and putting everything in the back of my truck.... Pretty disappointing, they can issue cards for people to buy all the weed they want, they have places like San fransissyco where nudists can be butt ass naked wherever they want, reguardless of children or who ever else may be disturbed by that, but us law abiding, responsable Americans cannot arm ourselves in a state where needing a firearm for protection greatly increases......

I understand their problem with high capacity magazines, which is cool, whatever. But such strict permit laws and transportation of the firearms is just stupid. They are only taking the guns out of our hands, not the criminals! They don't give a shit if they are legally carrying a firearm or not!

I guess it could be worse.... We could live in hawaii.....

Re: The New Firearm Thread

my Model 94 was missing the cartridge guides... My dad was convinced it had other issues and talked me into taking it to a gun smith.

It's been a Month and a half and they still have my rifle..

I called them last week and he just said "Yeah, it was missing the cartridge guides, I have the parts, just no time to get them in yet."

****

Knew I should have done this shit myself.
