Ok but still slapping another kids child that's TOO far. If you touch someone else's kid, that deserves an ass beating

Your right, I'd slap the damn parents for not teaching their children how to behave in public.

Re: Thats is, I think I am getting old.

I applaud you ladies and gent, this is one of few mature thread that actuallys on topic without much issues.

Never fear, I as well do agree with you guys. Too many younger generation without proper respect and discipline. Unfortunately we can't just beat them or knock some sense in them. No appreciation for life, taking advantage of law of being under 18 and only juvie record(unless it's serious) and having their parent taking the rap so they go out and repeat their disrespectness.

I do agree/disagree to comment about honor roll kid, I know few friends that is book smart but they put their effort for free scholarship for free ride in college and while off study, they appreciate life and do things you wouldn't expect nerd to do. I however do know others that is only book smart and unfortunately just book smart without apprehending street smart.

We keep on being respectful, understanding and appreciation while some punkass can see and go into that way.

They don't see how begging their parent for money and demanding respect is a weakest way to live when they can go out and earn their living much more better than $40 for weekend to waste their times. While you're earning what you earn, you can put your hard work effort aside and enjoy life around you, friends, family and person next to you, hence the forum here and many others.

Parents need to understand, just because their childhood wasn't good or that they didn't want their children to go through it doesn't mean they should realize how much better they become and instill that knowledge, respect, honor into their children and for generations to come.

Re: Thats is, I think I am getting old.

This thread is surprisingly good...

I totally agree that kids today are a bunch punk-ass babies. A lot of the younger (17-20) kids I know are all supported by their parents. They get new cars at 18, get their schooling, housing, beer funded by their parents and usually get a job because their Mom/Dad has a connection. It seems like these kids don't want to work to earn for themselves, they're fully content with taking the handouts from their parents.

Yeah, I agree with what. One of the best things my dad ever did for me was fire me and cut me off, really forced me to straighten my shit up

Re: Thats is, I think I am getting old.

just caught the last few minutes of "my super sweet 16" on MTV while waiting for another show to come on.....there is no need for a 16 year old kid to have a $100,000 Mercedes on Range Rover...on top of a party that was probably $100,000+ to begin with. I would love to see how long it takes those kids to wreck that car or get a ticket.

Re: Thats is, I think I am getting old.

I also notice the punk ass attitude of people my age and a couple years younger. No respect, work ethic, and just flat out rude in most cases. It crosses my mind at work fairly often with the way people act about our job and the expectations we are supposed to meet. One big part of this shit that really irritates me is the way people feel the need to be so confrontational. Whether it be on here, at my work, even just out and about town.

Damn straight.

That might sound strange from me, though. I'm not on here much any more, since I no longer own an S-Series, but I'm 19 years old, with a brand-new car in my name. I started working for a paycheck when I was 13 years old, I got the shit beat out of me more than a couple times for doing extremely shit, and I have only ever gotten one job due to the fact that my dad knew the guy. It was a great job, and the boss loved me working there, but he had to close the business down. Every job I have ever had, I have striven to do my absolute best, even when it was doing something that I hate.

I currently support my mother through working full-time, as well as I am paying for my car, and saving up to go back to school to get myself a career and a business.
I am not in the military, don't plan on it, but I have been raised with the ideals of having utmost respect for everybody in life.

Re: Thats is, I think I am getting old.

I turned my back on my dad and walked away one time when I was 13 while he was yellin at me, in front of my friends so I thought I was cool until I felt his size 13 on my ass, I swear I came off the ground 2 feet, needless to say that was the last time I ever tried that. I have 3 kids of my own 8, 6, and 4 and it's always please and thank you no matter who they are speaking to or where we are. My kids aren't abused, and don't have bruises all over but if they get outta line I don't hesitate to put back in check, I don't care where I'm at.

I'm tired of all these suburban wanna be punk ass gangtas\wanna be dope boys that wouldn't know what to do with a real gun if they had one, everytime I see some of em I wanna pull a real gun on em and watch em piss their hollister panties then pistol whip their faggot asses. I refuse to let my kids become on of these little motherfvckers.

Re: Thats is, I think I am getting old.

im glad im not the only one. i feel like an old man, i can clearly remember when i was like 18 and shit, drinking like a fish, smokin pot, not giving a ****, But i never did anything to hurt anyone, or damage anyones property. and i always showed respect to others. Now im about to be 24, and i hear kids 18 19 gettin busted for underage drinking, and sayin like "****in cops are dicks".. and even remembering how i drank underage, i still think those people are retards. But along the way i occasionally run into people of that younger age bracket, in dealing with people my own age group.. And ive only met a couple who were legit, and who i would chill with on a daily basis no questions asked. most of them just piss me off within the first 5 minutes of talking to me.

My younger brother is 19, hes on his 2nd year of college, and he is starting to get the picture, But he still is an arrogant prick who thinks hes knows better than everyone. He still talks back and shows mad disrespect for my parents which kinda pisses me off.. Hes also really disrespectful to me as well. There are times id like to cave his head in with my fist, But i know if i so much as raised my fist at him, he'd be on the phone with the cops quick, and i'd be waiting for someone to show up with bail money.

Re: Thats is, I think I am getting old.

i shoulda snapped a pic, i was driving home from my shop last night. And stopped at a light to make a right turn, and started going, and looked. and there was this MASSIVE soccer goal in the middle of the street. taking up almost both lanes. i had to get up on the sidewalk to get around it.. I can remember a time where i would have thought that shit was hilarius.. But the first thing i thought was "oh shit i need to call the cops, someones going to hit that and get hurt" at that point in time, i truly felt old as fuck lol

is every post from a kid on here going to be "i'm in the military, so i'm different now". shut the **** up - that doesn't mean shit.

granted, your attitude could have changed, but being in the military doesn't mean it did.
Mister880

Referring to people as "kids" when you are only 22 is like the pot calling the kettle black.

I am sorry you had a bad experience with junior enlisted members of the military in your community. In any population, you are going to have people that act out. Those enlisted men shooting at each other are a small minority.

The military does change how you act. It varies by degree with every person of course. The foundation of the military is based on respect, courtesy and traditional customs. This is the entire premise of basic training. I challenge you to get to know more military members; Your experiences may have left you with a bad impression.

That being said, I would rather work with (100) 18-22 year old Marines than (100) 18-22 year old college kids.

I think it has to do with with parents giving them what every the hell they want and not repramanding them for getting in to trouble or what now.

My parent said the same too.

It's good to teach your son old school, I was sort of taught old school that way, can't beat that.

I was watching some 30s, 40s western movie, I forgot how discipline, hard-working children were back then. Kids nowadays will cry worse than a baby would for doing a 1+ minute chore.

I did plenty share of doing chores without a problem as a kid and yet nowdays I heard from another family how they had to pay their 16-18+ son to do chores, they don't work. And sometimes if they yell and disrespect parent to get some cash... How pathetic, wish I could knock some sense in them. Problem with parent is that they want to be friend with their kid instead of parent/friend, they're careless, or just afraid their kid leave them . Even more pathetic, they don't have job and won't get one, it's "too much work". Sad.

i agree with everything in this post, i did plenty of chores growing up on a farm, i never got paid for them unless you count 4h and FFA market steers (generally sell for about $1500-$2000 and I took one a year), i learned real quick not to argue about doing chores or to be dis respectful because my dads belt was waiting for me at the other side of said argument or disrespect. But i am glad that both my parents kept me in line, id hate to be one of the stereotypical lazy kids that gets whatever they want and then bitches for more.
