Taking out the battery

My stupid ass dropped a tiny screw that I need for my power cable that runs from my battery and today I dropped the damn thing in that tray holding the battery. I see that theres a bolt on the bottom of it holding it secure, if I take this bolt out will I be able to get under the battery? Are there other things I need to do to get the battery out?

The reason I'm asking is because its about 1 degree outside and I'm trying not to freeze my ass off too much. Thanks!

That bolt holds the battery down. Once you remove it and your cables then you can lift it right out.

The tray will still be where it was under the battery when the battery is removed right? I'm planning on going to go do it tommorrow even though its colder than it was Sunday so I want to be sure of what I'm doing before my balls start freezing.

And does anyone know if there are holes in that tray or not? Any pics? Thanks.

The tray will still be there, it does have a hole but not to worry it is small. You might be suprised at the condition of that tray too. The first time I pulled out the battery it was rusty, a common problem as I hear. I sprayed mine with some undercoating in a can, seems to last better than paint.

Hrm interesting. Hopefully this damn tiny screw (not a normal one, its like all weird) dropped on that shit so I can grab it.

I hope mine won't be toooo bad looking, I've only had the truck like 9 months brand new!

You're tray should be in good shape. Leaky batteries will cause the tray to rust and stuff.
