My QA1s have 12 levels of shock sensitivity, which goes from boat-soft to the suspension hardly moving when you jump on the hood.

autofabracecars.com and talk to Josh, Ithink you can get a pair for the front for under $500.

It's the single biggest positive difference mod I have ever done to the car for under $1000. I think any other kind of drop in the front is a HUGE waste, what if it's 1/8" too low/high-you're fvcked.

QA1s up front, blocks/leafs, and QA1 shocks in the rear, and it will ride tits for about $1000, and you can tune it to how you like it. About $400 can get you the same drop, but much lower quality parts and no ability to adjust.

but yeah, it's the old addage with cars, speed costs money. You can have a racecar, or a smooth cruiser, but if you want both it takes a sh*Tload of money, hence why ferrari and mercedes can make ridiculous cars that both handle and ride well, but it take alot of design/effort/money. That's why no production streetcars go in the 9s yet, and racecars are so much faster than production ones.
Adjustable QA1 coilovers are awesome. You can really fine tune your suspension. It gets even better if you want to go with the double adjustable QA1 shocks. Instead of 12 way simotanious adjustment of compression and rebound you will have 24 independant adjustment settings for both compression and rebound.

The combination of that and selecting the correct spring rate will allow you to fine tune the suspension to your liking.

QA1 FTW

I don't think it has the shag, but yes on the zebra. I like it, however.

Static is way more badass. With static you can't "air up" over that railroad track, or speed bump. You gotta pucker your ass and slam into that shit like a man!

looks like i was wrong about the shag carpet, but god that zebra print is horrid. . .and damn it, i really didn't want to see the thing, that's why i didn't search for it. . .i was expecting him to come in here and take offense to me calling it ugly, and that would have told me my answer. . .

My frame hasn't hit the ground yet, its not a low enough static.

I highly doubt that tubbd's old truck can not not clear shit but never hits. I should measured it today and but it has 1-1.5 inches of ground clearance tops.

Seriously quit talking, yes you probably dragged your old blue truck everywhere. And your 86 omg it is the coolest thing since sliced bread, everyone should build there truck just like yours.

I own bagged vehicles/ static/ stock and so on, they all serve their different purpose and sit how they should look imo. I have seen many static trucks I would take in a heartbeat over half the bagged pos piles running around.

That looks sweet, hard to tell from the grass, but wonder how much ground clearance it has? I have a friend up here that has a mazda that is damn near that low if not lower. Yet he never catches or hits anything except driveway's and stuff.

cry me a fuckin river bro

nowhere in this thread did i mention any truck of mine and nowhere did i say everybody should build something like mine.

i myself have had everything from lifted, bagged, bodied, minitruck, longbed, and even a flatbed 5 ton chassis diesel chevy. who gives a fvck, in the end it all rusts away

Re: Static Guys Unite!

whatever you guys think

i gave my opinion about bags > static. and I also told you about how front/rear swaybars and shocks can make a bagged ride perform just as well as a static lowered truck and the adjustability can fine tune the suspension for the road.

i really don't give a shit who likes what kind of suspension setup anyways. it's your truck, burn it to the ground for all i care

Love my static...daily 365 up north. Like Daveman's it's great for playing too.
Mine is not the lowest nor planned to be, but really handles and looks very aggressive rolling down the road...but yeah it scrapes hard at times.

Re: Static Guys Unite!

its a 5 inch drop in the front (spindles and qa1 coilovers) and a 6 or so in the back.(drop leafs jtr blocks shims and setback plate.

have 235/45/17 on the front and 285/40/17s on the back
truck rides and performs great.

Static = does not change

Static drop = a drop height that doesn't change.

Opposites: Bagged, Hydraulics

huh, you still got me confused

so like a suspension like adj. shocks and springs isnt static dropped and like just regular springs and blocks with regular shocks is static dropped

Re: Static Guys Unite!

i like static shit for daily driving personally. i wouldnt want another daily driven bagged or juiced ride. Ive had a few over the years and i just perfer a get in and go kinda vehicle.

but for showing, i absolutely gotta say bags win.. IF they are done right. id personally agree that id rather have a standard static drop than a haggard up bag job. And unfortunately. i always seem to find more work that i am not very impressed with, then work that i am impressed with.

Re: Static Guys Unite!

I still think static is cool, but it's unfair to place it in the same category at a show along with the 'bagged trucks. There was a guy in my area, and he had an 80's Model Chevy Dually that was static, with a body drop, and that shit looked clean as hell! It kinda sucks though when a fellow minitrucker pulls up along side you on, and drags on you, and all you can do is look over and smile.
