Re: speeding ticket costs?

Just got back from traffic court a few days ago and i got citied for doing 10 over and that was $120. I'd imagine yours to be quite a bit more, especially if he wrote you down for the exact speed that you were doing.

And my 2 cents to eveyone always take taffic tickets to court many times it will get reduced or the cop won't even show.

Re: speeding ticket costs?

all states are different but in CA 21 mph over the speed limit is exhibitionist speed and you will be paying about $350(at least) and at risk of losing your license

I was doing 120+ in a 60, but slowed down to 95...got a ticket for 95 in a 60....it cost 1600+ but i didnt have proof of ins, and had an expired license (sac hadn't got my renewel)......i had it dropped down because i showed them my current license and it lowered it, but the ins. didn't drop

It was dropped to 900 but I was on a payment plan at 75 dollars a month, and missed ONE payment and was charged 300, then another 300, and I was back where I started

this happened in 05 and I JUST got it paid off 3 months ago thank you southern california

i think it's about the same here in NY.

i just got a speeding ticket 82 in a 65 when i was visiting friends upstate. i called to find out about how much it would be, the ticket itself is $85 plus a $90 surcharge, plus something else (not sure what it was). i'll prolly spend more money driving up there to show for my court date than the ticket is. i'll take the hit and learn from my mistakes.

Re: speeding ticket costs?

my ex's mom just got a speeding ticket and went to court for it. Ended up paying like $280 for an 83 in a 55 on an open country road, and her last speeding ticket was in '98. The judge said she "saw a pattern"

I don't know about where you are, but in CA, the 25 mph limit only applies when kids are outside or crossing the street - otherwse it's whatever the speed limit normally is. So if they're all inside in class, the 25 doesn't matter.
