I've seen them live twice. The first time I was fortunate enough to see them before Bobby passed

Lots of Rise Against, for whatever reason. They just started coming up in my main Pandora station and I'm actually enjoying quite a few of their songs, even though I'm normally not a rock/metal person.

You'll hate me more after I tell you that the second show was a free show.

My city has a big concert weekend every year just down the street at the main beachfront park, this year Blues Traveler, Smash Mouth, and Sugar Ray are playing friday night. I'll be in attendance. Last year Brett Michaels was there, I could hear the concert almost perfectly from my deck lol

Re: So, what are you listening to now?

I didn't even notice the text in your previous post until just now. That is a killer song though.

I'm not a fan of Smash mouth or Sugar Ray. Mark McGrath is annoying as shit to me. lol I think you'll enjoy Blues Traveler though. They put on a great sounding live show.

Re: So, what are you listening to now?

Nope middle of July, it's a concert put on every year by the rotary club. Friday night is rock night, sat is country night. Usually pulls in some big acts, not bad for a city with less than 25K inhabitants

Kinda similar here, the bar down the road from me has a bigger act come in every year and play a show and charge a decent admission to get in. Except every year for the last 4 years the act has been Eddie Money. So yeah...

Re: So, what are you listening to now?

lolEddieMoney. I swear that dude plays here like 20 times a year it seems. lol But yeah, here we have a few deals like that. Stars and stripes fest around the 4th, Arts, beats and eats around August, Rockin' on the riverfront behind the Ren Cen throughout the year just to name a few. All bring in some pretty big acts and all the shows are free.

Re: So, what are you listening to now?

Merle Haggard, Waylon, Willie, David Allen Coe, and Johnny Cash this week. Who knows what I will listen to next. The Griff just reminded me of my old NWA and Easy E stuff. Got to dig that out now.

Re: So, what are you listening to now?

Hey Griff

I just heard about Anthony over at O&A. I cancelled my XM subscription a couple of months ago. They were the only thing I missed about it, and I was bummed to hear about it. I wasn't surprised at how it happened though, Ant is a crazy dude.

You're the only other person here who even knows who they are as far as I know. Maybe Op will go with him and start that podcast they keep talking about.

Yeah, it's a pretty shitty deal. The worst part is that it was nothing new, it was basically the same shit he had said on the show for years, but when it hit twitter, he lost his gig. I've been listening to Opie and Jim today, and yesterday, and I plan on subbing to Ant's new gig "LFTC" when it rolls out. It's a shitty deal, but I'm reluctant to cancel just yet, Op just said this morning that they're pretty much Day-to-day, and he doesn't know if they'll be there tomorrow. If nothing else, it's made some really great radio the past 2 days.
