Lol my Internet has been down for a few hours now. I'm posting from my iPhone right now, but my brother just showed me a message from our ISP saying our service has been blocked because I downloaded a copy of inglorius basterds from demonoid a while back and forgot to turn off seeding when I finished the download. It's just a temporary ban, they said to delete the file and disable sharing on my p2p accounts and call them back to reactivate the service. The account is in my fathers name so they won't reactivate it if I call. So It will be off until tomorrow morning. But yea if you download torrents. Definitely stop seeding when your done downloading. At least on hot shit like new movies. They didn't say nothing about downloading, just to stop sharing.

I've heard people say they have gotten several letters like this before they actually did something. Honestly.... I'm surprised. I've been pirating stuff since the days of napster and never heard shit. I even had every song metallica ever wrote downloaded in the heat of the metallica vs napster thing where metallica was suing their fans. This is the first I've ever heard from anyone for downloading. Guess I'll just have to remember to turn off seeding shortly after the downloads finish.

Hell for anything I do, I browse for unsecured networks in my area. Gotten quite a few kicked off. What iritates me the most is that you leave your network unsecured and then don't change the login to your router from admin and attempt to throttle those that are leaching. Fixed a few of them so that the login wasn't admin and throttled them. My network is locked down with both with password and mac address, plus my login isnt anything close to admin

I d/l and havent heard anything. Tho when i do download i do it sporadically (sp) and only things that i really want to watch. I must admit when I first got into it I had most of my bandwidth tied up for about 3 weeks getting movies.

Well we got the Internet back on. Had to get a new modem tho. Apparantly when they cut the Internet service they sent a charge to the modem that fried it out. I guess they put up a message saying to delete the file, disable sharing and it gave a link to click when i did that to reactivate service. Well my dumb ass brother saw it first and said "oh shit well I didn't have this on my computer to begin with, and he clicked it gone his computer, and at the time I was unaware we had been banned, I thought it was just a dns problem and we had to call cox to have them re-ping the modem. So when he clicked that link cox went and scanned my computer to see if I had deleted the file, which I had not done yet. So they then sent the charge to the modem to disable it permanently. Luckily the modem was under warranty because we own our modem, so we would have had to buy a new one from them. Crazy. Definitely will be staying away from downloading/sharing any copyrighted materials from now on.

Well we got the Internet back on. Had to get a new modem tho. Apparantly when they cut the Internet service they sent a charge to the modem that fried it out. I guess they put up a message saying to delete the file, disable sharing and it gave a link to click when i did that to reactivate service. Well my dumb ass brother saw it first and said "oh shit well I didn't have this on my computer to begin with, and he clicked it gone his computer, and at the time I was unaware we had been banned, I thought it was just a dns problem and we had to call cox to have them re-ping the modem. So when he clicked that link cox went and scanned my computer to see if I had deleted the file, which I had not done yet. So they then sent the charge to the modem to disable it permanently. Luckily the modem was under warranty because we own our modem, so we would have had to buy a new one from them. Crazy. Definitely will be staying away from downloading/sharing any copyrighted materials from now on.
