Scale Model Build Contest

So I was looking at the minitruckin forum and they have a section for scale builds of mini trucks I thought that was kinda cool and Id like to do one here.
It will start september 20th (thats this sunday) and end November 20th
You can build any mini truck, not just s10s but must be a mini.
You will have 2 months to build the model.
You can post something that you have built if youd like.
To sign up relpy in this thread what vehicle youll be building and the Build name.
On November 20th the contest will end and there will be a new thread with all the models and we will have a poll to see who wins.
PM me with any questions you have.

Good luck!

what type of model are you looking for? I just found a hobby store down here that has a lot of the hard to find models. And I'm talking the hard to find ones that are no longer in walmart or the other stores. I have found alot from the early years like the 1970 & 1980.

Re: Scale Model Build Contest

Be fun to partake in if it included cars too....My one single truck build is going to for slot car drag racing, not a static model. I host a model contest at a car show, it would be fun to partake for once. I am currently building the AMT 57 Chevy "Spirit of 57" that was reissued over a year ago and turning it into a 210 sedan with a Hillborn injected BBC rather than the blower.

Re: Scale Model Build Contest

Monogram, Revell and Lindberg all made 1st gen S10's. I have a Monogram one but I wont part with it :P. The Lindberg kit is 1:20 scale. I think they also had a version that was a low rider that was 1/25 scale. None are in production right now. E bay would be your best source, and those kits are starting to fetch prices over 20.00.

Well when i walked in today he had got new stuff in and i grabbed a 1966 chevy chevelle ss, A Die-Hard Batteries Chevy Race Truck and the Monster Patrol Monster Truck (pre painted just had to glue. Finished that one before i jumped on here.) for right around $46 and because i bought the three he throw in two tubes of glue for free.

But since cars are now in im going to probable build that or the Race Truck and modify it to a s-10 body style.

Re: Scale Model Build Contest

i got mine at hobbytown. yes, you can glue it together. you might also want to check out the small sheets of styrene plastic, so you can wheel tubs and all kinds of other shit. i like the .020" or the .030" thickness the best for the sheets.

suicide doors is giving away $6,000 worth of air-ride for building the best model. it has to be customized and sent to them though. not just pictures. i just thought i'd throw out a little more motivation.
