S10 Blazer Vs. Jeep Cherokee

I was wanting to get some opinons on which one would win in a race. A 1998 s10 blazer 2wd 4dr 4.3 vortec automatic (bone stock) vs. a 1995 Jeep Cherokee 4.0L High output automatic 4dr 4wd with a 3 inch. lift, cold air intake and throttlebody spacer.

Depends on what your intentions would be with 'em. I owned a '08 grand Cherokee and loved it as a DD.

1999 Jimmy SLS 2 door 4wd. 4.3 auto, g80 locking rear, thrush muffler, 1995 s10 2wd wheels, soon to be bedlinered from the bottom of the doors down and fenders/bumpers and baja bumper bar.

Re: S10 Blazer Vs. Jeep Cherokee

depends on if your runnin 1/8, 1/4 or anything else. if its an 1/8, i'd say its pretty close, depending on the gearing in the jeep. i know my bone stock 4wd will run an 11.2 consistant in the 1/8 at ~60mph

95 Civic coupe-RHD swapped, b16a/y21, bordeux red/captiva blue, dumped on 17's, just a daily/family car

03 QX4-litteraly bone stock. Wife's daily, and im not allowed to touch it.lol

93 Del Sol SI-FF time attack/daily build in progress. we'll see what all happens as it goes.lol

The gears are stock. And I forgot to add his tire size is one or two sizes over stock.

Re: S10 Blazer Vs. Jeep Cherokee

4.3 would win hands down. My g/f has an 01 wrangler, 4.0L and 3.73 gearing on 31's and that thing is a slug. Hell my 2.2 with a manual could almost take off faster. And that's not the only 4.0L i've driven, I've got friends with cherokees and wranglers with the I6 and it's a reliable engine....to an extent, but still, they don't have speed at all. The 4.3 is also more powerful, hell, it's like night and day between my silvy and the wrangler. Every 4.3 I've driven, 96+ and even the CPI had a better take off.

Ecotec motors all have main girdles, main caps are just one big main cap plate bolted to the bottom of the block... stoutest 4cyl bottom end available.

so? what does it matter, long as they go somewhere safe? we used to go to a culdesac behind the new Kroger and race, since there was nothing around to harm. long as your smart about it, and your not putting other people in danger, most small town cops dont give a rats ass

Umm squareterror, I dont know what small town you live in, but in every small town from Florida to Arkansas, that I have been thru, the cops live for and are just waiting to pull you over for nothing, just to make their dick feel bigger.

I say the Blazer would win, why, I don't know, just say its blind loyalty, or stupidity.

Procrastination has carried me this far in life, it will carry me to my grave, and hopefully put that off as well.

'98 RCSB on jack stands, waiting on me to get the 4.8 and T56 swap together, while I steal parts off of it to keep the daily going.

'99 2DR 2WD Blazer that I bought for a daily but just can't leave it alone.

its a business park under construction, and we'd run from the culdesac up the road leading to it just for shits and giggles. round here, there's nothin to do if you dont have a 4wd sittin on 35's or bigger, soooooooo...... we made the best of it.

and make all the f&f jokes you want, but the track is only open 2 nights a week, and its about 30miles away at that, so a run or 2 a week isnt gonna hurt nobody. it'd be different if we were runnin light to light putting others in danger

nothing against you just my $0.02, there's nothing smart about racing on the streets in general, I've said before, I've done it but looking back on it I think of all that could've happened. Thats what you need to consider is what "could" happen.

truth. but, as said, we only ran back there because there was no one/nothing around to get hurt, other than ourselves(being our own dumb fault) i've never ran light to light, and dont plan on risking my truck or other peoples live to be a light to light kinda guy. i prefer the track anyway, but, as i said, its 30 miles away.

I guess if your gonna do it endanger yourselves only, thats sorta responsible, best to get it out of your system early, these days, I could care less to go fast

sounds a bit sarcastic but no hostility given in this ^

Re: S10 Blazer Vs. Jeep Cherokee

culdesac in question, just for justification. its safe at ~1/8 mile. gives plenty of room for both to slow down and get in line for the divided part.

and i get it, i realize it wasnt the smartest idea, and i havent ran there in a little better than a year, but it was the best we could do on $20 a week for gas. least we weren't tryin to drift round blind corners round town.
