for me the one random image that still brings a laugh; I was on way to work and pass a road where some kids are playing. As I catch site and pass them I relize one of the kids is sitting in a wheel chair with boxing gloves on. I could not help but blurt out "WTF" and laugh my ass off. So much so, that I called a friend to share...

I was 14 I think and we were on our way from Minneapolis to Canada to go fishing (my dad, uncle, and I). We were in my dad's long box single cab 2wd 1500 Chevy with the boat on the trailer and only had Queen's Greatest Hits to listen to on the casette player haha. But around 2 am we drove through Duluth and we passed the local NBC affiliate on the freeway and my uncle asked me what I would call the other side of their logo and I had no idea so he says, "a poop cock" and proceeded to laugh until he cried as did my dad because I had no idea what the hell was so funny. Now I get it and we still laugh til we cry when it comes up.

I was in a pretty bad car accident when I was 17. I was going to school when some lady t-boned me going about 60mph, spinning my van into a 360 and ejecting a friend of mine from the back seat....

He landed in a ditch, knocked out with a broken arm, and I mean BROKE. Did I mention half naked? Yeah... his pants must have gotten ripped off when he was thrown out of the van. So there's Chad. Knocked out, his right arm looking like it has 2 elbows (one about 6" above the actual elbow), with his little pecker flopping in the wind. Thats not what's burned into my brain though, after he came to and we found his pants (30 feet or so up the road) he tried putting them on... Lets just say it's really, really, really funny watching someone trying to button up pants with a broken arm

We all laugh about it today, but i'll admit I did feel like kind of an asshole laughing at him at the scene.

the talks of funerals, reminds me of my grandfathers, which is a pretty vivid memory i have. which is kind of ironic, october 27th of this year will make it 5 years, since he passed.

i don't remember alot of the burial, which i was a pallbearer myself. but i do remember the playing of taps. and during the playing, a flock of geese flew by. the irony of that, wasn't that ironic, it just reminded me of him at the time. since he always would go out and toss bird seed out in on section of his yard, and feed the birds. and he would watch them from his recliner, right by the window, alot. he also placed a hummingbird feeder right by the same window. just is a moment that sticks out to me, hearing the geese, as they were coming in the distance, and watching them pass right over us.

i also have a fond memory, of the american flag being folded up, and handed over to my grandmother. seems the rest of the burial was a blur.

Oh, same here, but it was just my grandparents that had a problem with it. My brother was quite the instigator when it came to pranks and what not. After the funeral, when we were in the church dinner hall (or whatever you call it) my mom and dad were both even in on the laughter that ensued from the stories about my brother, when my paternal grandparents came over and were all indignant because they said "this is time for mourning, not laughing". I'll never forget my mother looking my grandmother right square in the eyes and say "Blow it out your ass, Monette. Take your holier-than-thou bullshit elsewhere". The look on my grandmother's face was priceless.

That's the ONLY time I've EVER heard my mother cuss. I know my brother laughed his ass off at that. He never got along with them while he was alive(hell, neither did I, even to this day), and nobody dared to put that woman in her place. Yet, this 5'1" woman stood up to this 6' tall woman, and she didn't say a word. Priceless, I tell ya.

one was when I had been working in san clemente when I lived in riverside...I had been working 12+ hour days, 6 days a week...I had to drive through the ortega highway....one saturday, I had been hella tired, and was dozing off while driving...I had fell asleep, and hit the guard rail, bounced off, hit the side of the mountain...when I hit the guard rail, I was asleep...it woke me up, and all I saw was the side of the mountain...imagine doing about 50-55, falling asleep, waking up going straight towards the mountain, knowing there is a steep enough drop next to it, that they use helicopters to bring cars to the top..if the owner is alive and wants the car back...otherwise, they take the wheels off, break the glass, and drain the fluids...then they paint a large X on it to signal that everyone was dead or rescued....


on that same mountain, I witnessed a motorcycle go under the front of a big rig...the guy was alive, but the chick was all bloody and not moving......

Went snowboarding with a buddy a few years ago, he tried doing a double backflip. He ended up crashing pretty bad and was just laying there. I was yelling at him to move so I could try, but he wouldn't get outta the way.

Got down there, he was in shock, and was saying his arm was broken. I told him to try moving it, and he moved it up fine. So he decided to sit up.

Up he sits and then he passes out, and then I notice his collar bone sticking out through his skin. By the time we got to the bottom, the hill had long ago closed - I went looking for his parents, looked everywhere, couldn't find them, so I headed back to the first aid area. There's his dad sitting in a bed beside Dave, with a broken shoulder, same side, and his mom freakin' out saying no more playing in the snow. Hahaha.

my gpa's funeral... my cousin's newborn baby's funeral...

oh yeah and a couple summers ago we were having a cookout and we heard a car accident... next thing we know the power plant (literally 1/2 block) from the house starts kicking it into overdrive and smoking like crazy so we think its going to blow up so we run towards it to help the people (my uncles an army national guard medic) and the guy was drunk and hit a telephone pole... the fire station was closer than the house and we were on scene before paramedics... the guy wound up dying from injuries in the crash

Took a call where a 26 year female was found slumped over in bed by her 27 year old husband. She just celebrated her one year sobriety from methadone the week before and her husband was still taking it. He fell asleep before she did, she took about 2/3 of one of his daily doses. It ended up killing her. They have a 7 year old son together. The three of them lived with his parents so they knew right away. But I had to go to her mom/stepdad's house and notify them. mine anit good or funny. but the thing i can get out of my head was the look on my g/f face and in here eyes when she went to her first funeral. it was a friends baby girl thats was only 5months old. die of SIDS. my g/f was only 18 and never been to a funeral. i wasnt really that close to the family and i took everything i had to stay and be there form my g/f. i can not get the look on here face and here eyes. it was pretty ****ed up how they had the baby girl laying to. they had here just laying on a table with a blanket. come on, use a crab or basanet or something. will never forget that look.

Suprunyuck and Sayenko were sentenced to life imprisonment; Hanzha received nine years in prison.

Eventually I catch my breath and tell her what's goin on and my uncle chased the bat around for a while and then we lost it. The look on his face was fvcking priceless, it's burned into my memory, everytime we bring it up we cry laughing about it still.

Mine would have to be staying home from work so I could get my DOT physical. Looked out and saw that my father was still at home so I called and got no answer, so i walked down there and found him dead on the floor. I know he called off work 630am same time I get up. Didnt look outside until 11 am. Still wonder if I looked out early if I could have done something. But seeing him lying on the floor is something Ill never forget. (almost a year to today).. That and when I was a kid I saw a dead person sticking out a windshield of a car that rolled over on the highway.

I am a glazier..I work on construction sites all over california..I was in san diego one day and I had to shit like you wouldn't believe...On construction sites they use shitters...well..when not in use, you're supposed to shut the damn lid so the stink goes out the vent tube, and not into the general shitter area...well..some one that used it before me left the lid open, and as habit I look on either side of the seat because people "squat" over the shitter and usually miss...as soon as I walked in, my eyes focused inside the "bowl" (i usually glance to see if its blue liquid or full of shit...if its blue liquid, i unroll some TP in there so I dont get the blue splashback)

as soon as I glanced inside there was this turd about as round as a 10.8 ounce can of folgers breakfast blend, and maybe 6-8" long..this thing was HUGE and bloody..i hate that I remember it..its just one of those things that sticks with you..DAMN

It was the one of that politician that shoots himself in the head in the middle of a press conference. I had weird nightmares for a few days but I had never seen someone die like that before so its like permanently etched into my memory

Thought of another one, wasn't gonna post it but people are mention funeral experiences so here I go...

Back in August a good friend of mine was at a party (that I didn't go to due to worrying about it being busted for underagers). He was drunk, like sloppy drunk from what other friends that were there told me. Passed out behind someones car in the drive way and got ran over... The girl that hit him left and to my knowledge she's not getting in trouble for it at all.

Anyways, he didn't make it. No one knows if he died instantly or if he layed at the end of the drive way dieing. But i'll never forget what he looked like laying in the coffin at the funeral home... He was always the happiest person in the room, exploding with life and energy. Whoever did the makeup did a horrible job, he was blue, makeup was cracking REAL bad, and you could see bandages holding his face together. It's only been a couple months but that's an image that's definitely burned into my brain.
