Random Cell Phone Pictures 2017

I guess since it is 2017. Here is a couple pictures from the shop at UTZ. We have our own 24 hour shop where the service everything from the big rigs all the way down to the dodge dart that we use in the IT department. I am on the project to set up all of their new computers.

No idea what this truck hit. They had it in the shop late on Friday. It looks worse once they had the hood off. The front suspension looks like a pretzel, they had to cut if off with a torch. Maybe I can grab some up close shots on Monday if it is still there.

This on hit a deer. All it needed was a bumper and a hood. We have a warehouse that is just full of spare parts for these trucks. Somehow the deer hair got stuck between the wheel and tire without damaging the wheel or tire.

Re: Random Cell Phone Pictures 2017

Here's a rather large photo dump of a rifle my father picked up in trade, and mom found under the bed after he died 6 years ago. It took her two years to find it. My brothers didn't want it, and since I'm a hobbiest gunsmith, it came to me...

I present to you a H. Pieper Belgium .32 caliber centerfire Flobert with Remington action. Interesting note...Henri Pieper formed and ran FN Herstal back in 1889. He was also the principal shareholder.

This didn't come from the factory with the carving on the stock, as far as I can tell. It appears to be done by a past owner. It originally sold for under $4.00. I plan on using a piece of reclaimed barnwood and making a mount for it, and mounting it on my wall. Oh, it also came with the original cartridge loader with bullet mold. I have about 40 brass cartridges and primers for it, and fired it twice this weekend. It has honest wear, an old repair for a crack in the stock, and great patina. To me, it's useless as anything other than a wall hanger, but it will fire.

Re: Random Cell Phone Pictures 2017

Thanks. I wish there was a familial attachment to it...like it had belonged to my grandpa when he was a kid or something. The only tie to it is that dad picked it up in trade. Another interesting note about it...importation of the rifle was between the late 1800's and the beginning of WWI. That means this is a 100 year old or more rifle. While it's not the oldest I have in my collection, it is the oldest with a stock carved like this.

Here is what the truck looks like with the hood open.

Here is the remnants of the suspension and bumper.

This one showed up today, no idea what happened to it

This is one of our IT cars. It is a 2015 o4 2016 Dodge Dart.

I had a dart like that as a rental. So far it is the least favorite car I have driven, maybe in my life. The dead pedal is too small to put your foot flat, you have to angle off to the floor, and the shifter bugged me. When making hard right turns, my hand resting on it would move it over and make it go into the manual mode.

Worst rental ive had is a Nissan Rouge... had electric power steering which highway was fine but around town and parking lots especially it sounded like an RC car with that rc toy car gear/motor whine when you turned the wheel. just a very blah riding/driving car...

Chrysler 200 we had another time wasnt half bad. not super exciting but was a decent car.

I find the seats rather comfortable, but that is about it. I also keep accidentally putting into manual mode, very annoying.

Re: Random Cell Phone Pictures 2017

I added this tool box to the front of my jet ski trailer for a big road trip.

So they've been sitting outside for the last month like this.

The road trip was to Florida with a stop in NC along the way for me to buy this white one. It's an aftermarket hull that uses Yamaha driveline. Back flip capable with a nice power plant. Drove down with a friend in my car.

Daytona Freeride.

non-cellular photo

The 24.5 hour straight drive home was super nasty in Iowa around 3am. So many semis that couldn't move. Literally pure ice.

The throwout bearing in my car got super rough just before we left for home too. Made it all the way with the car shaking violently during clutch release. The next day, I made two short trips around the house and parked the car. When I came out the following morning, I couldn't even press the clutch down far enough to activate the clutch switch to even start the car.

Quattro/Audi transmission removal was a task!

New vs old

I saw this on the highway by my house in MN, it has California plates. Anyone know anything about it?

My truck did a good job while the car was down. Glad my parents have indoor water and a floor drain for a good hand wash.

After a 2 month wait, 3 days of owning and troubleshooting, then 2 weeks back for warranty, I finally have my Mavic Pro. I sold my Phantom 3 Advanced a few months ago when they announced this.

Flying to CT from MN on Monday, I've never seen the de-icing process before.

Danbury, CT

Re: Random Cell Phone Pictures 2017

I ran into problems with my job in CT so I had the afternoon off to go explore. I was only 45 mins from NYC and I've always wanted to go, so i took the train down. Amazing place, I can't begin to understand how it's possible for so much to be going on in such a tight area. I had 4 hours to walk around and see as much as I could.

This guy (possible under cover cop?) had the best dog. No leash in Times Square. It sat at every intersection and was no more than 6+ away from him at all times.

St. Patrick's Cathedral looks so misplaced here with all the office buildings.

x2, nice posts for sure. definitely see the country a lot.

had some snow out here last month, drove the beast since why not. 10 psi ftw! lol. i'm glad to see the hydraulic steering had the speed to respond to steering corrections on ice. i was worried it may lag with quick steering. that 6.2 is such a turd, can hardly spin tires on snow in 4x4. 0-60 is 28 second on dry pavement with 4.56 gears & turbo 400...you guys cant bitch how slow a 2.2 auto extended cab is anymore

dont think i posted this, but made a float switch for the power steering. if the fluid drops 3/4" power gets sent to the stock buzzer which is loud as shit. at least if i have a leak on my hydro steer i can react and pull over ASAP. without this, if i loose fluid = no steering at all. just a piece of mind mod....

Shift cable was original, and i know because the old cable was attached to the backside of the stern drive, instead of the outside. anyways, it was definitely giving me some issues with it sticking causing the boat to stall. it was slow to come off the neutral interrupt switch. i put a sleeve of 3/8" fuel line to prevent the new cable from rubbing on the bellhousing.

^ that was mid January. today i just found out these are clear plastic! i always thought they were metal EZ lube hubs on the boat trailer. had grease leak from the vent holes on this, so sealed them with RTV and put a new seal on the hub that was leaking. basically packed the bearing like my dana 60, and i'll use the clear hubs to view any water intrusion.

and......i got this yesterday. 2017 spark trixx. extended variable trim, adjustable bars. my buddy has a normal one and they are fun despite being just 90hp. but they weigh only 420lb, 9ft long. so light, nimble, and easy to jump that and 50mph is fast enough on water. with this one it should be pretty fun.... the larger higher HP ones are fun and all being fast, but there is kind of a lack of fun factor being 12' long, 1100lb.... plus the top comes off exposing the entire engine compartment. that was a HUGE selling point for me. i'm sure Cory can attest on the limited access through the seat can be a pain on jet skis.

Re: Random Cell Phone Pictures 2017

Sweet! Sparx are good machines. 420 pounds is about the same as Kawasaki's new stand up, haha. Edit:The new stand up is actually 550lbs https://www.kawasaki.com/Products/2017-Jet-Ski-SX-R

You still have a couch ski though

Wrenching isn't the worst, even though it looks like a nightmare. This is my 1995 X2, fixed steer stand up ski basically. I swapped the 650 for a 750 in it, identical on the outside though.

Here's another of my new one. The main difference in an aftermarket hull is they are shorter, the pump sticks out, and have a lever actuated trim vs having no trim at all.

Thanks, Mo. I'm glad that my posts deliver.

Re: Random Cell Phone Pictures 2017

well, that's not too bad on a stand up. didnt know those had much more room than a sit down.

but compared to this,

vs a traditional style.

**** all that. my buddy had an older 2 stroke seadoo and the rear exhaust hose blew out. it was an absolute pain in the ass to work on...... basically working blind.

being how this model is new, and hardly any video of it online, i'm curious how crazy you can get with it. the trim has manual adjustment, and if you double tap it up, it just about instantly adjusts to full up. figure if you go right before a decent wake, you can double tap it, trim all the way up, and launch the crap out of it.

guess i will find out this summer. not risking it with the water this cold though may putt around and give it a proper break in.

Re: Random Cell Phone Pictures 2017

^ now you can see why it was a big selling point for me

took it out on the water the other day. 45F temps. that kept me from getting too crazy on the break in. can easily bunny hop it though with the trim up, or easily do tail stands sitting down normally even...i'll be able to push it harder once the water warms up lol. those handlebars were definitely better than the standard models. more comfortable when sanding up on it. your arms are not all extended out.

Re: Random Cell Phone Pictures 2017

Went to my great aunts for lunch the other day (she actually gave me my s10) and she's starting to clean her place a bit. Saying she has a lot of stuff is a bit of an understatement. Anyways, this is all I brought home so far. I don't know really anything about ammunition, but a plane emergency landed in one of our pastures training for WW2. They stayed for a few days waiting for another plane to bring parts, and naturally my great grandma fed them and what not, so they gave them some memorabilia before leaving. This was one of the things, and she showed me a bunch of pictures of the plane and pilots etc. Pretty cool, had never heard this story.

GM, Are those brontosaurus steaks? Your line of work is kind of constantly evolving isn't it? I'm sure you're no stranger to the classroom because of that.

Heeter, That's pretty awesome. I'd like to see those pictures.

People are absolutely disgusting. The smoke film on the windows was so thick I scraped it with a razor blade and it came off in a solid sheet. I can't imagine how someone could drive this thing. Can't imagine what their home looks like either.

Re: Random Cell Phone Pictures 2017

Funny thing is the customer looked clean and neat. Surprising how much that happens. We've got another customer that comes in every once in a while when stuff is literally falling off her car. Smoking hot, fit, very cute. Car reeks of spoiled milk and god knows what else. And, no, I can't refuse to work on anything just because it's nasty. This car was our only job yesterday.
