Most homes here more than 15 years old have the popcorn ceiling. I'm about to close on my first home, and it's got it throughout. Scraping it all down and doing a plaster finish will be the first thing I change.

take a small weed sprayer and fill with water , spray ceiling as you go and you'll get a lot less mess and dust.....

Was going to tell him that as well. Makes it fall right off with minimal scrapinging. Hot water works better than cold also

We have been redoing our living room for the last few months... this is our base. 1x8 with a single-hump cap, and a shoe molding (not installed in this pic)

Works well, as long as it hasn't been painted.

A little bit of a pic dump...

A cookie from Old Chicago for my birfday... That's not a saucer under it either...

Cleaned an painted valve cover for my 2.2. It's not perfect, but most of it will be hid anyway...

What your hands look like two days after working with Gorilla glue.

New favorite drink... Not an alcohol drinker so this is more my style. Like it much more than the Palmer version...

I think I found the pulsation

this yellow thread locker shit can bite my ass - I broke two 3/8 sockets, and a 3/8 breaker bar trying to get them out. I've never had a bolt fight me so hard before. I'm 95% it was factory too

Is that all from a newer Silverado? I've had issues with that factory thread locker on those being extremely tight too

That hole popcorn ceiling conversation, my parents house had it throughout the whole place, we just used a spray bottle filled with water and then a drywall scraper. Worked pretty good but damn did it make a mess! make sure if you have carpet mask it all off.

The pic is deceiving. The wheels are actually in the air. The car on the other end derailed somehow and caused this one to nearly roll over. Needed a crane to get everything back on track. pun intended

Re: Post random stuff from cellphone cameras: Part II

lol... to me not knowing shit about trains, my brain thinks that rule numero uno, at the end of the day, amongst everything else would still be "keep train on track at all times".

Yeah, I might get it tested, the house was built in '73 and back then they were still using asbestos in the ceiling texture. I've seen how to do it with water and a drywall knife, and it doesn't look like it's ever been painted so I'm expecting it will come down easy.
