you missed out on a lot of fun movies that some of us grew up with in the 80s. . .i like how alot of our comedies from the 80s could be funny as hell, and not have to be crass or vulgar to be funny. . .hell, i was watching the great outdoors last week, and it's been awhile since i've seen a movie that is funny for both kids and adults, and the worst bit of language used in it is when dan akroyd explains what hotdogs are made of. . .

edit: obviously the guy who posted before me hasn't seen travy's highly recommended movies comments just yet

movies today aren't junk. . .unfortunately most of the stuff that's being released now is just rehashed stuff that we see over and over again. . .and when something tries to be different, it's usually put on the indie circuit, and those movies hardly ever get good distribution, so trying to go see them becomes a hassle. . .too many movies are made by the hollywood hit formula because the studios know they'll bring in money, which is what they want, but it doesn't mean we as customers get to see the best movies that studios could produce. . .

anyways, i'm on an old film noir kick right now. . .been watching old movies like The Big Sleep, Key Largo, and Stranger on the Third Floor. . .

He's watching them via youtube and downloads, so he's still missing out. Maybe once he gets a HT, he'll see and hear that's it's a world of difference.

Some of those are from the 70's. But, there was an equal amount of horrible comedies in the 80's as there are now.
