Just gotta be smarter than this moron

3 people in my town put in orders for them (one of them already has a yellow jacket) and all 3 were denied.

Re: Most Ridiculous finds on Craigslist volume II

A number of years ago, I had a TVR 2500. Typical British sports car, ran like a scalded cat, when it ran, but it had this persistent engine hesitation issue. After much poking and prodding and searching, it turns out the TVR had an extremely crude (read: mechanical) pollution control system that would kick in when an inline mechanical odometer would reach a certain number, which would prompt a visit to the local TVR mechanics for an expensive "tuneup"
In my case, the mechanical inline odometer was stuck on 666. Removing that counter, plus the nonsense it triggered, solved all my engine issues with that car.
