I hope Leben wins, it will be a tough fight for him for sure. I started to dislike Bisping after his fight against Matt Hamill.

Re: MMA Thread
I absolutely hate Michael Bisping. I hope the old Chris Leben shows up and throws a nice knockout punch in the first round!!
Leben is a good "tester" for any middle weight. He's a decent fighter, and if ypu are able to beat him, you have the chance to go far in the weight division.......if you cant, then it may be time to drop a weight class. leben will never be champ or anything, but the UFCshould keep him around just to be a good test to up and coming middle weights. |

Re: MMA Thread
I think you mean Patrick Cote, and honestly, I dont think he does. I am a Patrick Cote fan myself, but he doesnt have near the arsenal that Anderson Silva does. His only chance in my opinion, is if he landed a lucky knock out punch.......which probably wont happen. |

There is now talk of Kimbo Slice fighting Fedor!!!! Are you fvcking kidding???!!! Kimbo will get HURT!!!! HAHA
GSP is also talking about a future fight with Anderson Silva......after he takes on BJ Penn. That would be a good fight, but I would have to go with Silva on that one too. |

Re: MMA Thread
I went to the ConquestFC Event in Des Moines last night. They had some pretty damn good fights, in cluding LC Davis from Militich Fighting Systems as the Super Fight.
Josh Neer was there, doing autographs and was featured as a Special Guest Referee. Got a couple T-shirts, a picture and an autograph picture from him. Really cool dude I might add. Heres a link to see the events: http://www.conquestfc.com/Site.html |

Travis Wiuff was upset last night at Sengoku 5 by newcomer Muhammed Lawal. Really weird, as it was Wiuff's 65th fight and Lawal's first. It was a good fight though.

Re: MMA Thread
So what the hell happened with the IFL?? I wondered why they werent having the team competitions anymore, but Ididnt realize they were bankrupt.
I really liked that organization too!! They had some damn good fights. I made it up to Moline a year or two back and got watch the Silverbacks take on the New York Pitbulls. As a super fight, Pat Millitich fought Henzo gracie.......he lost though, so that kind of sucked. Allan Goes, Jeremy Horn, henzo Gracie, Bas Rutten and some other big names were there. It was a damn good time. |

Re: MMA Thread
The IFL's concept was a decent one, but the funding just wasn't there. MMA isn't a team sport. Plus, it's very difficult for an organization to try to compete at the same level as the UFC, Dream, Affliction (Remains to be seen), or EliteXC. The level of fighters was, at best, B. |

Not too much really. The previews for next weeks TUF looks good. I am thinkin that Junie is gonna get booted or something. Looks like he is starting shit with Bader, and Dana starts to give him an earful about something, calling him a sick bastard or something. I am anxious to see it. By the way, what channel is EliteXC gonna be on Saturday?? I am gonna have my brother record it for me, I am gonna be at the Extreme Challenge watching some real fights. |

Re: MMA Thread
Yeah, it looked like Junie pushes somebody into the pool also. He is ****ed up in the head from what I have already seen. When they were talking about him being bi-polar. Will see soon.
So, a guy from The Hit Squad out in Granite City was at my job the other day. Asked him a few questions about training and stuff that goes on at the gym. He mentioned that they have an MMA class for 100/month. Or you could do everything for 150/month. I ws kind of in a rush at work so I didn't get to ask him much more. But what would be the difference between the two. And what do you think of the pricing? Thanks. |

With everything, you can take muay Thai, BJJ, submission grappling, and boxing along with the MMA classes. Kimbo got KTFO! Finally! I stated that as soon as he fought someone who wasn't on social security or a can he would get exposed. |

wasn't even a really strong punch and he was out. he tried to shoot on the ref lol. Although I think Shamrock got scared and "got cut" on purpose to get out of the fight....something just seemed fishy about it.

Re: MMA Thread
As far as Kimbo; Finally yes. Now the myth is crushed (just like Brock's) and we really get to see what he's made of - Will he train harder, or will he cave? It's a shame that fight was set up that late - I imagine it definitely does these guys a world of hurt when they have to go up against someone they haven't trained for; IMO Seth was in just as much trouble as Kimbo was, Seth just happened to land first. The rest of the fights were great; That Ninja/Benji fight WTF! "Bells will be riiingiiinnnnn" Can't wait for Carano/Cyborg - that fight's going to be downright vicious. Good luck on the fight JD; how's the knee? Last edited by Imperial : 10-05-2008 at 07:54 AM. |

Yeah, I completely forgot about the Scamrock fight. Then a friend calls me and was yelling and laughing over the phone. He said "I know you just seen this shit!" First thing I thought was "damn, I know I missed a fight." It took about 15 mins to explain all the drama then the outcome. lol

Re: MMA Thread
It showed his cut at the very beginning of the show.It was right on his eye and stitched up, looked like it could have been a nice one.
I personally think he took a razor blade to his own eye and got the cut on purpose cus he is a pussy and didn't want to have his face removed by Kimbo. But whatever such is life I guess. |
