Re: mail trucks for sale???

The most common ones are s10's with the 2.5 iron duke. I got the "privleage" of working on one one time....should make baggin easy though.

Re: mail trucks for sale???

I know the postal service tries to not allow any of thier past or present vehicles get into the hands of the public, but it does happen sometimes.

Re: mail trucks for sale???

You can get them from auto auctions, but you have to have a dealer license.

ANd in case you guys didnt know, alot of mailtrucks use s10 frame and motor.

I'm pretty sure that those are on first gen frames too. Not positive, but I thought they were.

Re: mail trucks for sale???

most have a 2.5 some have a 2.2(rare). They just keep dumping motors & tranny's in when needed. not sure on the frame looks like a short p/up frame

hasnt anyone noticed that kutting edge flipped the picture around? what a dumb move...the whole point of the mail truck is to be right hand drive

i'm a mailman, it rocks! i'll ask my VOMA (vehicle operations maintenance assitant) if there's a way to get my hands on one

Re: mail trucks for sale???

The postofice routinely sell their vehicles that are to be phased out or replaced with a another vehicle.

The LLV is being phased out across the nation right now. Problem tho comes that the PO will offer these firstly to Rural Letter carriers and the stations that are still running the Older Jeeps. The areas that already have LLV for their Rural Carriers and the City side is updating to FFV's will be selling them to the public in auction.

Usually they have auctions at the major facilities in each state/group of states. Keep an eye out for postal auctions. They list them in the papers.
