Looking into getting a different daily driver, opinions.

Okay guys, getting kind of bored with s10's and blazers, want something different, my 2000 sonoma i have now will be sold to partially fund something, just not sure of what to get quite yet.

I'm a big guy, 6'6", and 250, so I don't comfortably fit in every vehicle.

I want something dependable, decent gas mileage, and pretty roomy. Mainly just a little leg room.

So far, I've been looking into these vehicles.

* 99+ silverado, sierra, regular cab, or extended cab, short bed. Can't stand long beds. Only problem is you can't find one clean, with decent miles for a decent price.

*Chevy colorado, or gmc Canyon Never been inside one of these in the drivers seat, Im going to assume extended cab, or crew cab would be my best. Im aware they make the crew cabs in 4 cylinders, how slow/weak are they? if anything like a 2.2 s10, i dont want it. Opinions?? Most of these seem over priced to me, its nothing more than a s10

*Lexus GS - 300,400,430 My buddy reminded me of how good the 98-2005 Lexus GS cars look, whether it be a gs300,400, or 430, both are full size sedans, that get decent MPG, and can look good with a simple drop, and wheels and tires. - these are fairly priced but lots of them are loaded with 200-300k miles, and for 6-8k Thats ****ing stupid to me...

I've also considered getting a 98+ extended cab, s10/sonoma, 4.3 5 speed/auto, zq8 truck, thats mint condition, and just keeping it stock with a 2/3 on top of the zq8 drop. but its HARD to find a clean stock s10/sonoma these days without them asking 8-9k

Anyone else know of any other big sedans, that are decent priced, 7-10k ? that get decent mileage, and are dependable. I'm leaning towards the lexus GS mainly for dependability, as those motors never quit, maybe someone has something im forgetting about ?

Re: Looking into getting a different daily driver, opinions.

A friend of mine had a 2000 Silverado ext cab short bed 5.3 auto. Got good gas mileage, was quick and had lots of room. My friend is about 6'2 - 6'3 and he wasn't too cramped sitting in the back seats.

I test drove a crew cab Colorado 2.8 auto and I honestly couldn't wait to hop into the Noma afterward, they are quit gutless. With the 3.5 they are quite peppy. They do feel a bit roomy inside but not sure how much different they are from the s-10 as far as room. Thats about all I can help ya there.

As far as the Lexus. I don't care for any newer Toyota/Lexus. I don't care to work on them but they are very nice cars and have an extremely nice ride as far as comfort and noise.

Re: Looking into getting a different daily driver, opinions.

My brother is a tech at the local toyota dealership, so he tells me good and bad of mostly all toyota stuff.

Main thing on the gs is the waterpump/timing belt, and keep the fluids changed on time..

I figured colorados were pretty damn slow, but my 2.2 extended cab sonoma is slow as shit, i think its the heavy ass 20's and the combination of the 2.2 just dont work out good together.

Re: Looking into getting a different daily driver, opinions.

I have a regular cab colorado, it's definitely bigger inside then I thought, but I'm only about 6'2" but it's comfy.

And I have the 3.7 I5, it's not fast but it's got some go to it and milage isn't terrible, but the v8s a little less MPG, not much though

I'm about the same as Colbye, 6'6", 240ish, and I fit in my first gen alright. Although, I can't shift while turning cuz my knee gets jammed between the wheel and door.

Come up to PA and buy my Audi for $6500! I'm 6'4 220lbs and fit perfect with plenty of room left. Cars reliable and quick, decent on gas(24mpg) and it's slammed...plus euro.

x2 on the 5.3 colorado and the g35 or g37. i love infiniti's but they can be a pita sometimes with injectors etc but great on performance, looks, and luxury.
how about a 6.0 gto : ) then maybe a supercharger to go with it.
