The gun charges stemmed from a July 2007 incident in which police pulled over Wayne’s tour bus after a concert. They found a loaded .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol. While Wayne initially pleaded not guilty, the situation changed this month when prosecutors said they had DNA evidence linking him to the weapon.

There’s no word yet on how this will affect Lil Wayne’s music plans, but it’s hard to see this as anything but a major roadblock to promoting his next album, Rebirth, which is still awaiting release after months of delays.

one year, big deal. I enjoy Lil Wayne, with the exception of the "be in every pop radio song for the last year" crap. But I also agree with the attitude of being above the law, bullshit. You **** up and get caught with a loaded gun then you do the time.

He'll get out May 26th 2010. He also got his sentence dropped to a year by doing community service beforehand, had he not done the community service by the time he had to serve his time he would've faced a longer sentence. He also had an array of fully automatic weapons.

He's an idiot, why do you have an "entourage" an carry a gun? Get one of your boys to carry a loaded weapon so he can do the time if he gets caught.

ding ding and no one is allowed to carry a weapon in NYC unless they are a cop or a retired cop other then that you are not getting one. if you get a permit in dutchess county(where i live) you can carry any where in NY as long as the county permits it and you obey the rules, but you cannot carry in NYC

that sucks. In pa you can open carry if you want to and you don't need a permit to do so. Only when open carrying in a verhicle because technically the weapon is then concealed and you will need to get a ltcf. You will realize that people are a lot nicer to you when they see you are ocing. Some states offer reciprocity with other states. Meaning if you get a ltcf in pa you can carry concealed in states that allow reciprocity with your state. Unfortunetly I am surrounded by a bunch of anti gun states so reciprocity isn't too good for me. I am sure little wayne cannot legally get any handguns because I am sure he has past felonies for other crimes that disallow you from getting a handgun or ltcf.

i,got respect for wayne as a person. I realize that he's maybe is on a "hit list" like t.i was (maybe still is) and is wanting to protect himself but the law is law and no'one is above it. t.i bought a ton of firearms and got busted. He's "reason" is because in ohio after a after party this van him and his buddies were in were lit up and philiant a good friend to t.i was killed and he admitted he believes that bullet was meant for him. After this happend t.i was charged n sentenced to a year and a day..he changed around his whole mentality and decided to help changed the lifes of younger guys/gals that were following his same path when he was a teen. and when the bars shut in front of you..ya you're locked up all u can do is your sentence but where u take you're mentality can mean all the difference in the world. when you're in that court room you're just another number.

i'm just going to leave the beaten, battered, and bruised first half of the post alone. . .but you do understand that T.I was found guilty, and had over a month between being found guilty and his sentencing right?. . .now, if i done ****ed up, and i have, and i had a month to impress the judge to get my possible sentence of 10+ years reduced to 1 year, don't you think i'd do anything possible to change that judge's mind into my favor. . .like, i don't know, make a show on mtv about helping kids straighten their lives up. . .

I realize that he's maybe is on a "hit list" like t.i was (maybe still is) and is wanting to protect himself but the law is law and no'one is above it. t.i bought a ton of firearms and got busted. He's "reason" is because in ohio after a after party this van him and his buddies were in were lit up and philiant a good friend to t.i was killed and he admitted he believes that bullet was meant for him. After this happend t.i was charged n sentenced to a year and a day..he changed around his whole mentality and decided to help changed the lifes of younger guys/gals that were following his same path when he was a teen. and when the bars shut in front of you..ya you're locked up all u can do is your sentence but where u take you're mentality can mean all the difference in the world. when you're in that court room you're just another number.
