Lifted/Lowered Lawn Mowers.

Before I started working on trucks (s10's) I worked on lawn mowers. Lift them, lower them, made them go fast, all that fun stuff. It was just something to do and keep me out of trouble.
So here are some pics of what I have done to lawn mowers.
Post up some pics and info of what you have done to customize your lawn mower.

Lifted/Lowered Lawn Mowers.-hpim0272.jpg
16" lift, car tires, straight pipe, goes 40 kph, reverse tilt hood and a winch Oh and it will do a sick wheelie.
Lifted/Lowered Lawn Mowers.-kijiji.jpg
Stretched 2 feet, does 45 kph.

Re: Lifted/Lowered Lawn Mowers.

This is the only one I have a pic of right now. I probably have about 6-8 modified ones with about 30 or so very old wheel horse little tractors. Ill take some pics tomorrow night if I get a chance.

Re: Lifted/Lowered Lawn Mowers.

Wow, I'm amazed! These are awesome! Me and my Dad just started rebuilding a 16hp twin II B & S Murray with a hydrastatic trans 46" cut. I ordered a carb rebuild for it and tomorrow we're going to take the mowing deck off and inspect it. Trans is sketchy right now...when you push the pedal down it does nada.

Anyway, these mowers are awesome, keep the pics coming! I will post pics when we get this one going.

Re: Lifted/Lowered Lawn Mowers.

lights on during build phase

was what u see below for years when i was little, we dont have a huge yard so it was perfect. but i saw a post about racin lawnmowers on here and decided to kick it up a notch, got it up to almost 40, transmission finnaly bit the dust tho haha. got a 5 speed now but different setup so no brakes, havent had time or when i do its cold as balls out.

what it was for years when i was little, my form of a gokart/atv

wouldnt mind lifting it a little (open chain drive so wouldnt be hard to do) but once again time and whatnot haha

x2.

everything about those "mowers" looks unsafe. good luck with that. and are you really aloud to call it a mower when they're no longer able to actually mow a lawn?!

Re: Lifted/Lowered Lawn Mowers.

god i wish i still had pix of my old projects

my favorites were:

old craftsman that i made 4x4--used 2 rear steer hyrdostatic transmissions from a set of yellow yardmans. it had no suspension so it was worthless but fun as hell

my old john deere that i body dropped(in idea wise) and went a staggering 41mph(hey i was in jr high when i made it)

but constant flack from police made me give up my habit......now i build and play with v8's.......maybe cops should let kids play with tractors and go karts

I've posted this before nothing special. Just a frame off rebuild. I actually need it to mow the grass.

I saw this thread and I was like SWEEET hahaha so far I think from the looks of it.. I have the lowest mower! haha mine is an old school montgomery ward lawnmower. Just a static drop. it even scrapes down the road!

We were using it in the creek, but then the belt started to slip, hence the reason for chain drive...

Re: Lifted/Lowered Lawn Mowers.

Sorry but that lifted one looks dangerous, the front end doesn't seem to be supported very well. just looks a bit ghetto. as for the lowered ones, they look good when done right.

Alright, I'm going to bump this old ass thread... Sue me.

To the OP: That first lifted lawnmower is an ER trip waiting to happen, seriously. That's one of the most dangerous things I've seen in a while. But, I really like the 2nd one, that screams go-cart dragster!
Wagonproject: What the hell did those rear tires come from???

I thought everyone here knew about my website (www.offroadmowers.com) since I'm the resident redneck that does shit like this

I like the 2 cyl briggs.......its whats on my mower. The carb is a little finicky though. I love the hydrastatic trans though, makes mowing much easier.

Not a good pic at all, but here is my cousin's 'hot rod tractor' that he's had for 5 or so years now. It has a Vtwin on it now with the dual stacks and the front beam has been flipped up on top of the frame to rake it out and look like a funny car
