Las Vegas!!
So, I'm going with a bunch of my best friends to Vegas here in 4 weeks for one of my best friends weddings. I've never been, nor has most of the people i'm going with.
I did a quick search and seen nothing really on Vegas. Anyone been there that can shed some insight on the need to visit spots? Maybe share some stories? Ready, go... |

Re: Las Vegas!!
Been many times. There are tons of shows to see and shopping. You don't have to just gamble although I prefer to play Texas hold em at any of the casinos.

Re: Las Vegas!!
I just went last month for the first time. Its something that i can say that i have done. Seeing all the different hotels and casinos is an adventure in itself. There are tons of shows to be seen ranging in price from 30 bucks to over 100. Obviously as long as you are gambling you drink free...excluding tips obviously. There are tons and tons of hooker promoter on every single corner that will try to hand you cards non stop. While we were there we took a trip out to see the hoover damn which was pretty sweet. There is always something to do no matter what time and tons and tons of half dressed women all over the place!

I didn't even think about going out to see that. I'll have to bring it up! That would be perfect for during the day when were trying to recover to go out again at night. lol.

Re: Las Vegas!!
Just there last month for my cousins wedding. Second time I have been, but first time being of age. Fremont street is worth checking out. Stuff over there is much closer to affordable when compared to anything on the strip. I did not get to see any shows and was kind of disappointed because I did want to see atleast one. It was extremely busy when I was out there, because it was during both the Pacqiao (sp?) fight and EDC week. Im sure you already know this, but keep a lot of water with you. It will likely be 100 degrees plus even after sun down while you are out there

Re: Las Vegas!!
A word to the wise, DO NOT be drinking all night and think you will go to the Dam the following morning the sun/heat will ruin your time wait until 7ish it will still be hot but the sun will be going down and certainly be blocked by the mountain unless you go to the AZ side. You can chill at Lake Mead,Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire are all nice areas to see. Also, summer time in Vegas does affect many that come here to visit so bring these items with you when you leave your room: CHAP stick of some kind BOTTLED WATER should be like your wallet( with you at all times) Of you feel as if you are thirsty you have already begun to dehydrate ........ DO NOT drink the water from the tap unless you have an iron gut, you will get bubble gut and ruin your time. There is nothing wrong with our water however the chemicals in it YOUR body is NOT used to and you will moat likely have the shits!!!! Hope this helps all that visit...... |

Good food - Todai Sushi!!! in Planet Hollywood *ph - aromi d' italia in ph - buffet in Bellagio Bad food - plaza *$5 breakfast should be priced at $2 *$20 dinner should be $5 - Demand the advertised price for the drinks or have them rip your wallet at freemont street - circus circus breakfast Good bar with patio in front of planet hollywood. people watching in vegas is as much fun as people watching at the state fair! i forget where the strip clubs are. been to three and all had nice women. 1 was over-priced. $40 cover at the door and $600 for a 30 minute lap dance. *no, i did NOT pay that for a lap dance!* looking forward to SEMA chris<pixelmonkey>

Re: Las Vegas!!
Went out in May for the 1st time. Gotta agree with the "ok, been there once, no need to go back". We stayed at the Stratosphere. New rooms good, old rooms sucked! Ate at the top of the tower and enjoyed it. Pawn Stars sucked. The Titantic exhibit at Luxor was good, Terry Fador at the Mirage was great. Take a trip out to the Shelby factory at the race track. Also, take a trip to Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon. Walk out on the glass walkway & look 4000 ft down into the canyon floor. Plan to WALK!!! The places are huge and your feet will hurt by the end of the day. Old Freemont St was really interesting. You can zip line thru it, the old casinos, neon & the light shows are pretty cool. Most all of the parking is free if you have a car or there is valet everywhere. Have fun and remember the sun is awfully bright.

Re: Las Vegas!!
I go all the time. There's plenty to do, even if you don't gamble. I'm going out again in October for the NHRA Big-O-Tire Nationals.
The strip has tons of shit to do/see. I enjoy the hell of of simply people watching. There's a ton of kickass restaraunts and buffet's on the strip, as well as off the strip. and also, be sure to hit up In-n-out burger when you go, since you don't have them where you are. You can thank me later. I don't really go to shows, but the Penn & Teller show was worth it, but then again I'm a huge fan of their work. |

Re: Las Vegas!!
I went a few years ago, good time and spent a week there. I'm from Kansas so they had some food joints there we don't have in the Midwest like in and out, fatburger, and del taco come to mind. The best buffet I've ever ate at in my life was at the rio, damn I'm full just thinking about that haha.
When I went there was a casino called wild bills, they had two pitchers for ten bucks and lots of drunks singing karaoke, I found that pretty damn entertaining and stopped by there every evening to get a laugh drink some cheap beer and kill some time. The fountains outside the bellagio is a must see IMO! The best way to get around is the bus, you can get a three day pass for 15 bucks if I remember right and it will take you anywhere on the strip and downtown to freemont street. Definitely head downtown to freemont street and check that out! I spent a damn week there, didn't see any shows, just browsed around and drank the whole entire time and gambled when I felt like it. Looking back there's so more I wish I had checked out. I'm kinda a people person and like to shoot the breeze with strangers. I'd sit down at a random machine next to somebody and just ask them where they were from, did he same at some of the bars and made some friends while I was there and some folks bought me some drinks. Saw some hookers get arrested and that was entertaining lol. Dirty birds cuffed and sprawled out on a cop car not wearing much I just had look haha. Overall damn good time and I'd do it all over again!! |
