Just Wanted To Show You Guys Why I Have The Car Bug

This is why I am a car guy.
This is my fathers 1932 Ford 5 window all steel Henry Ford Deuce Coupe.
He has had this car since 1976 (longer than me) and from 76-96 it was a channeled, big block, 4 speed street rod. Then in 96 he decided he wanted more of a traditional ride so we put it back on the frame, ran full fenders, hood, and chopped the top 3 inches. This is the 1st car I ever really "built" this is the car I learned to fabricate on how to weld on and do body work on. Since 98 (when it was finished) it has had over 30K put on her and about 5 of those miles at the track 11.2@118 was the best with him driving. It runs a GM ZZ4 with dart heads and a holly 750 DP.
I'll dig out some more pics.
Just wanted to give you an idea of why I love this hobby so much.

Cool car man. Ive been looking forever for a decent 30s ford truck, but its tuff here in new england. everything is really high priced, and most of them are pretty far gone.

Re: Just Wanted To Show You Guys Why I Have The Car Bug

that's a 1932 Model A 5 Window Coupe. Those cars are a dime a dozen. More common then the Model T Buckets. 2 interesting facts about this car are first they were the only car Ford ever made with the frame rails exposed and second there are more Model A's on the road then Ford ever built. You can buy all the parts aftermarket and build one yourself and no one could tell the difference if you didn't tell them.

I'd make it a highboy. If you don't know the term ask your old man.

At first I didn't want to answer you at all, but since this is my fathers car and i have spent my entire life admiring and building it I find it necessary to defend her against your false claims.

here we go

1. 1932 is the 1st year of the new design for the ford motor car. The last year for a model "a" was a 1931. The 1932 up to 1934 is a Model "B" you can tell the difference by the fact that a model "A" has a sun visor, overlapping doors, and a shorter curve to the rear end.

2. In the world of Hot rodding the 1932 Ford is one of the most desired, even more-so with the 5 window.

3. You are correct in the fact that you can purchase all the parts and build one, however only since 2001 have they made re-pop 5 window coupes. the roadster, sedan, phaeton, and 3 window have been re-popped in glass since the 70's. This making a Real Henry Ford STEEL 5 window Coupe one of the most valuable and desired of the 32' cars.

4. I don't have to ask my "old man" about a highboy, in fact I have forgotten more about 29-34 ford's than you will ever "claim" to know.
A High boy would be the same car as my fathers sitting up on the frame rails just with no fenders. You can run a hood or not that doesn't matter.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Model_B_(1932) Please read up on your subject matter

here are some examples so you are more informed:

This is the High boy, 5 Window Coupe. Same as dads without the fenders or running boards

this is a model "A" notice the sunvisor and the shorter rear "curve"
this one is also not chopped. This particuliar one is also running a 32 or "Duece" Grillshell

Just to put this out there, reman. car shells fit terribly. I've talked to someone who has done a Dynacorn F-body and they said it was a pain in the ass and it'd be 10 times easier using a 67'-69' shell. So it's not as easy as all the magazines say it is.

Meh, I can appreciate the work put in, but these types of cars dont do anything for me.

You should probably get all of the swirls taken out of the paint as well

My uncle had a 3 window coupe. It was red and all custom interior. I loved that car so much, then he had to sell it. It was a fiberglass body not steel.
