Iphone questions

My girls wanting an Iphone, and i wouldn't mind having one myself. How is the signal with at&t. Also anyone have a plan with 2 iphones on it, how much is your bill. I noticed they charge $30 just for having the phone. Is that for each phone. Anyone regret getting one. Im with verizon and love the signal. kindof scared to leave then have to wait to come back.

Re: Iphone questions

iPhone thread

Signal is regional

all charges should be per phone

Hit up an ATT store on your way home from somewhere they can tell you everything

Re: Iphone questions

Signal isn't bad, I prefer Verizon, but oh well on that one. The phone is good but make sure to jailbreak it as soon as you get it.

As for the bill, my girl has one (nextel myself still..chirp chirp) her bill is like $110 a month I think for like 1450 minutes, unlimited text and web? I get 20% off through my work so it brings it down to like $87 a month or something. Deff a good phone though.

Re: Iphone questions

Best phone I ever had. I have the iphone 3g-s. There a ton of apps, many very good ones are free. I only have one on my plan so I don't know what the cost would be for two. One thing I like about ATT is they're parental controls service you can add on. I have that for my daughter's phone.

Re: Iphone questions

Only go with the 3G or 3GS, you can't get the 1st gen phone from ATT anymore youd have to get a used one. But they are so much slower.

Re: Iphone questions

Yes, you will be charged $30 for each phone. We have 2 iphones, and 2 regular lines. Our bill is around 150ish, with 4 phones. Depending on what plan you go with, I'd say you're looking around 110-120ish a month.

Re: Iphone questions

AT&T service sucks in our area platuor. I had them for about 3 months. I had no service more than actually having service. You would have very little service if any in Deatsville. Millbrook is hit and miss. Its better in Prattville. AT&T works better in the city, outside city limits and you can forget it. Hope this helps you out!

Oh and if your wondering, I had a Blackberry Curve 8310. I don't think the phone was the problem!!

Re: Iphone questions

Pay $120 a month for my Iphone and my wifes phone on our plan. She doesnt have Iphone but it'd be 30 more a month for her if she did.

I heard you can't jailbreak the phones now after the new update... wouldn't know I havent jailbroke mine, or really looked into it.

It's an awesome phone. I didnt even want it but was eligible for upgrade so got it cheap

Also, check into family texting plan... all lines for $30 a month and you get unlimted texts.
Beats the $20 a month for each line they charge.

Me and my wife don't use many minutes so we have the lowest minute plan you can get with the Iphone. We only use maybe 30 minutes a month on a busy month. The rest we text... a lot

Re: Iphone questions

Yea i think im getting one. I went and played with one and its crazy cool. I work from Montgomery to Atlanta. So if i can get service in Prattville, Montgomery, and Atlanata i'll be happy. Girlfirend works in Birmingham so im sure she will get service there. I wish i had the money to get one today. Have to wait to pay day though.

I've read a little about jailbreaking them what exacatly is that, what does it do.

There are actually 3 versions. The original 2g (edge), released in 2007, the 3G (3G internet) released in 2008, and the 3GS, released this year. If you're going to get one, spend the extra money and get the 3GS.

Re: Iphone questions

I beleive the 3gs is faster.
Also you add 30 dollars per iphone on your plan. so if you and your daughter got one you add 60...
i have AT&T and its not that bad for service

Re: Iphone questions

The 3gs is faster at EVERYTHING (has double the ram, etc.), has video recorder, and gloss black back. I went from a 3g to a 3gs...well worth the extra money.

Re: Iphone questions

The major difference in the 3GS vs the 3G is the processor and RAM, so it's basically just faster. The 3GS also has an auto focus camera that allows you to shoot video where the 3G is fixed focus and no video capabilities (unless you're jailbroken and use cycorder). The 3GS also has voice dialing where the 3G doesn't.

Re: Iphone questions

It's totally worth it. The only negative is you lose your warranty. It's easy enough to restore though if you ever need to. BTW, I have an 8gig 3G. I couldn't be happier with the phone.

Re: Iphone questions

You have to setup your Itunes to import the tune to your phone.
When I make ringtones i just put them on the desktop for ease of finding them.

You know they have a 1 year warranty right?

I suggest getting the applecare as well, it'll give you another year. You can buy it as long as you are still under the 1 year warranty.

Re: Iphone questions

is that warranty thru apple or at&t. I'm guessing apple. I didn't know it had a year warranty. Just knew cell phone companies give you 30 days to see if you like it or not.

The 2 year, which is only an extension of your 1 year, is through Apple. If you have an apple store close, you can buy it right from the store, or you can order it on the web.

I hear a lot of rumors from the tech-junkies in my group of friends iPhone might go to Verizon at the end of the year?

Not trying to spread this, just trying to see if anyone knows anything more on that?

They're wrong. Verizon still uses CDMA, which is why they aren't getting the iPhone. It's a GSM phone.

Verizon is updating their network now, at the end of the year it'll be 4G and CDMA compatible, which is where i think the rumors started at.

Or something like that, I'm not exactly a tech-dummy, but these are tech-nerds telling it, so, it IS beyond me...

Ask them to explain how a GSM phone is supposed to work on 4G and or CDMA. Bottom line, it can't, and they shouldn't be the ones talking.
