SO i guess i dont know.
I've read that If you restore it in restore mode it will keep the passcode and you're wasting your time..

Although I can put it in DFU mode, and restore it, and it will work according to some websites, as DFU mode is a "last restort" for the phones software to be upgraded/changed/restored - it completly erases everything and starts clean like it would be out of box.

I'm going to go ahead and pick it up from him i guess, if i can't figure it out, oh well.

wish that would work for me man, but when i actually broke my 1g 8gb iphone, i had to "upgrade" to a samsung pos 100 dollar phone, so im signed for 2 more years already. and im not trying to do that again.

so i mean i might as well just buy this used one as it is like new,he just forgot the code, ill restore it to new software and call it done.

oh man, its been 6 months ore more, my iPhone broke, and my last resort was to go to the store.. they told me i was eligible for a free upgrade, since i had purchased the iPhone full price for 400 something dollars, i still had a upgrade from 2 years prior to use up... so they got me a free samsung phone all setup and ready to go... its now beat to hell and back and is a total pos..

called a family friend earlier with at&t store near my house, she said i wasnt elidgeable for an upgrade, but one of the lines on my account was, but i couldnt use the upgrade due to the fact their system shows i got an upgrade within 6 months of some line of bs she told me.

So im just going to get this phone from this dude, and get it working, if it works great, if not cool, im not paying him until i know if it works or not.

DFU mode is restore mode. What term you use just depends on which platform you're talking about.. windows or mac. Either way, it's the same thing on the iPhone.

It's actually true. When I took mine in, he had a small l.e.d flashlight looking...So I asked what he was looking for. He said they could tell if the phone had been in water.

Most of your phones now days, have something, somewhere that they can tell if it has water damage.

I have a 1st gen, blackjack that I sold to a guy on ebay. He sends it back stating that it had water damage. I said BS. Well, when I got the box back, it was soaked. He had taken it to the AT&T store, and they pulled out the battery, and sure enough, behind it, had a round sticker looking thing, and it had turned red. They phone still works, so I guess it didn't get inside.

That's because they're being OS specific and don't realise that the end user doesn't care.

yep, on the back of our Nextel phones under the battery there is a small black sticker. If it gets wet, it turns red. found that out the hard way when my phone was having network issues and I took it in to a repair center. He opened up and saw the red dot and said it had gotten wet at some point. He told me he couldnt work on it, that I had to take it into the Sprint store. What really sucks too is that FedEx will leave our packages on the door step where they can get rained on. So now, if the boxes from Sprint show any water damage, I call them and send the shit back.

That's what happened to the blackjack, they left it somewhere, and it rained on it.

I didn't file a complaint, I wasn't losing anything, hell I was only trying to get like 30-40 dollars for it anyway.

Now that looks like a cool dock. The manufacturer sent this one to me to review. I'm not out any cash. No manicure here.. in fact, I usually bite my nails too short. Look for some more reviews from me coming up. Word is that TBCS is gonna be swamped after the first of the year.

3GS. I wasnt about to save a few bucks for half the speed. so far I'm very happy with the speeds on 3G service. When I had a data plan on my blackjack I couldnt get 3G service at my house very well but its doing good so far with this phone. Might not need to get a wifi setup at home after all.
