Re: *iOfficial* iPhone and iPod touch thread
Ok I didn't read the thread but I have a few questions. I have an iphone 3gs 16gb with the newest software installed (3.1.2)
1. Is it worth jailbreaking my phone? 2. Is it possible that jailbreaking my phone will cause damage that I can't fix? 3. What are the negatives of jailbreaking? 4. Can I go back to an un-jailbroken phone if I want to? 5. How do I go about jailbreaking my phone? Thanks. |

Re: *iOfficial* iPhone and iPod touch thread
Alright I just jailbroke my phone, now where do I start? Do I go to cydia or to the app store to get apps? I thought all the apps were free now? When I went to the cydia store it still shows them costing money.
How do I change the way everything looks on my phone? Basically I just want to know where to start. |

1.. the app price is there because that's what it costs in the app store.
2.. search the themes |

anyone seen the new viper "smart start" alarm and app? remote start, panic, door unlock/lock via iphone... use multipal cars, and lets you know what has been performed and at what time. works like the key fob but with a shit ton of range and functionality.

Re: *iOfficial* iPhone and iPod touch thread
those using the 3g phones if it didn't work try this. Save the blackra1n program in your C:/ drive. Then open task manager and close anything that says itunes or apple. Then right click on the blackra1n and run administrator. then make is ra1n. I had to do it several times before it work but finally got it.

Re: *iOfficial* iPhone and iPod touch thread
Anyone know why my tethering usage under "settings: general: usage" disappeared after jailbreaking? What exactly does tethering mean? I don't want my phone to be tethering without me knowing or something.

blackra1n is the jailbreak for the newest software (3.1.2). redsn0w is for previous ones I believe. Took me like 1 minute to jailbreak my phone with blackra1n |

Re: *iOfficial* iPhone and iPod touch thread
goto cydia, click on manage click on sources click edit click add type cydia.hackulo.us install "installaus" NOW YOU HAVE INSTALLAUS you can now get any app you want for free to make your phone look diffrent use cydia to find themes and winterboard to select what theme or whatever else you want to run like i suggest getting "the best clear lockscreen" then checkmark it using winterboard |

Re: *iOfficial* iPhone and iPod touch thread
i am on vista 32. Unfortunately i dont have access to a win7 machine. I heard this is supposed to work on all versions of windows tho. Only thing i can think of is, maybe i need to disable autosync on itunes. Maybe its interfering with the program. its restoring right now for about the 5th time. So as soon as thats done ill give that a shot. see if it helps.

Everyone on all these ipod forums is suckin his dick because he wrote some shitty program that only works on like 1 10th the devices.. I tried everything. on 2 different computers, under 2 different operating systems, under different usb ports, Tried everything listed on every forum i can find.. I lost count at around 35 or 40 attempts to jb my shit.. Im pretty pissed an on the verge of putting my phone in a vice.

Re: *iOfficial* iPhone and iPod touch thread
i dont know how it worked. I did literally nothing differently. the first 3 or 4 times i tried it i had the carrier update installed. Then a read to not do anything at all after updating, so i did id mad times witout the carrier. The last time i did it, i installed the carrier, ran blackrian, and it actualyl cycled all the way thru, and said it was done. The phone restarted, but there was no blackrain icon. And the gay picture of frodo didnt come up. So i said **** this im gonna try it one last time, did the exact same thing, and it worked.

Six Icon dock! if you have 5 id already you will need to uninstall it first and then install 6.
And I am also JB now on 3.1.2 with black rain. It wasn't hard for me at all. ![]() |

Any of you used iCall yet? I use it with 3g unrestricted. You can make phone calls over the internet, and if your roaming you can use it and free calling!! Works great, and has the key pad just like regular dialing!! It's an excellent program!!!
