Re: *iOfficial* iPhone and iPod touch thread
I tried, it did a backup which tookforever and then it didn't have a single app in my library.. Then I did the transfer purchases and it only transfered 51 of them. I've tried everything, and I know my way around things but it's just not working. It's odd

Do you think it's the appysync is old? I'm using Appsync for 3.0 and I have 3.01 firmware

What do you mean how did I get 300? I have a ton of apps, and I use categories. |

I haven't read anything on this, but maybe try going back to the other iTunes. appsync has worked on mine, and my wife's phone with no problems.

Re: *iOfficial* iPhone and iPod touch thread
it should have it in your account history. You may need to manually reinstall them. I know if you have an app you purchased from itunes, and it doesnt show up, but you purchased it, hit buy now again, And it will allow you to donload again for free.. That might be what you have to do.

Re: *iOfficial* iPhone and iPod touch thread
I tried an older iTunes version... nothing. But I was looking around on the iphone and under installous " itunes sync " was turned off under settings. I turned it on, and now it works. ****ing 3 hours wasted, I don't know how or why it got turned off, I didn't have a problem before. LoL

You can put as many apps as you want. Even though you max out on how many pages you have you can use the spotlight to search the other apps if you know the name

Re: *iOfficial* iPhone and iPod touch thread
Ever since 3.1 update me and my brother have had NOTHING but problems. The other day my phone just shut off, wouldn't hard reset or anything. Plugged it into iTunes. Damn thing made me do a factory restore. I lost all kinds of stuff because iTunes isn't really saving my BACKUPS. I do one every week and for the life of me cannot find the files ANYWHERE on my computer.
Went to Apple their reasoning to poor battery life, freezes and the paper weight not saving my backups: I do not turn it off every other day for 5 mins and I use a PC computer. |

Yeah, thats not a good reason to why it would do it. I wonder if reinstalling itunes and then having the fresh restore would help it.

Yes, swirlymms is an app. Search for it in Cydia if you're jailbroken.

if your shits jailbroke, go into cydia, and search for swirlymms, in the upper right corner hit install, and it will automatically download and install.

Once an iPhone hater because my friends iPhones would crash and freeze with early software I am now converted and love Jailbreak.
![]() Only thing I hate is pretty poor battery performance but I'm loaded with Push for 3 e-mails and IM and such so it's OK lasts a day anyways. |

Re: *iOfficial* iPhone and iPod touch thread
saw this on the home page, had a first gen, i believe [the one without external speaker], 16GB itouch. dont use it much now....for some reason it wont connect to the internet anymore dunno why, and the battery only lasts a few [2-4 maybe] hours. in use or not. its still has like one and a half months of the one year apple warrentee on it...didnt get the extra isurance on it from best buy...best buy wouldnt send it in to apple for me because "it has some scratches on the casing, it must have been dropped, and we wont warrentee that" so i feel kinda screwed on that! everything is fine, just replace my battery, and make it connect to the internet!!!! would go to the apple site, and fill out what they need and send it in that way, but dont have a credit card to send it out with. i feel really screwed here, any sugestions? i still got the receipt, box, and all the stuff that came with it too! need some help here!

Try a restore on it. That will reset it completely back to the way it came out of the box.

Re: *iOfficial* iPhone and iPod touch thread
im going to hold off on the 3.1 jailbreak, i already have mms, the only reason for going to 3.1 is maybe some of the new features. supposedly pwnagetool or another version of the same thing is going to come out on the 12th for windows.

Re: *iOfficial* iPhone and iPod touch thread
apple must have really stepped up their game on the 3.1 shit. Its never taken this long for an official jailbreak for windows to come out since ive had my iphone or ipod touch. Usually its a few days.. week tops and they have it out and ready to go. im still running 3.0.1, and dont really plan on upgrading until they got everything figured out with the jailbreak and with the unlock. I dont need an unlock at the moment to get service, But i dont want to risk it since i dont have an offical iphone postpaid att account.

Well, I'm on about my 6th restore after trying to use blackra1n. I don't know what the **** I'm doing wrong.
I have never had this much trouble, even with I had the original 2g lol. After this restore, I'm going to try 1 more time, and that's it. |

Re: *iOfficial* iPhone and iPod touch thread
I finally got blackra1n to work. I updated to 3.1.2 earlier. Tried blackra1n. No luck. I then decided to do a full restore on 3.1.2, and then ran blackra1n again. I'm jailbroken now. Just need to sync all of my apps and everything now.

Re: *iOfficial* iPhone and iPod touch thread
Im having trouble jailbreaking my iphone. When it starts going thru the process it never reboots. Im using 3.0.1 firmware. I followed several videos on youtube but nothing. When i let go of the power button, and contine to hold the home button nothing happens, except something on my computer pops up saying something about a use a 2.0 usb port for faster speeds. But nothing ever happenes to the phone while holding the home button even if i hold it for 2mins. What am i doing wrong. BTW using redsn0w 0.8 and downloading firmware 3.0 not the 3.0.1.

Re: *iOfficial* iPhone and iPod touch thread
When I upgraded to 3.1.2, my hacked apps were still there. That's never happened before, so I was like, cool, this will be easy. After countless times of trying to jailbreak, and having to restore what seemed like 100 times, I finally found what was wrong. If you are having problems with blackra1n, do the following. (I'm running Vista, and I read that Windows 7, and Xp were both having the same problems sometimes.) Move blackra1n to your C drive. Set to run as Windows XP SP2(or 3 if it's an option) compatible. Disable any firewalls, and all antivirus software. Kill all iTunes/Apple programs running in the background. And this should do the trick. |

Re: *iOfficial* iPhone and iPod touch thread
Also, appsync still works. aptbackup, or w/e it's called, didn't work, which it never has for me anyway.
Supreme Prefernces isn't working, which I hate. Winterboard, and all other little things seem to be doing fine so far. Including five icon dock. The phone is a lot quicker now, after this update. I'll report back, if batter life changed any. |

I finally got it to work last night around 3am and played with it til 5am. What am i missing cause i don't really see a bid deal! I mean its cool you can change your background to your homescreen, but were are all the cool apps at. Also i thought you could get the apple apps free but they still have a price beside em.
