ahhhh, I hate having to redo everything lol

categories works just fine but you will have to put your apps back again if you remove categories, just take a snapshot of each page. i dont have 6+ pages of apps so getting categories for 4 pages wasnt worth it.

Make sure to install "APP SYNC 3.0" from cydia before you go to sync your apps. (This is required to install the jailbroken apps, or else it'll give you an error)

Yeah, it's still working today. I try to keep my phone on all the time but sometimes instalig a new app on cydia requires a restart. I'm hoping I can at least keep it working long enough at least until AT&T finally allows it.

Well i toasted my iphone tuesday night lol My dumb ass was online with a glass of water on my desk.. And like an idiot i spilled that shit and got my phone wet. so now when its plugged in to the computer, it shows the connect to itunes thing, and its stuck in recovery mode. when you try to restore it, it just keeps throwing error #9. When you unplug it, It just restarts over and over. Gets the the apple logo for like 20 seconds, then the screen goes blank.. and it keeps repeating until hte battery is dead lol.

I went out and bought a samsung a177 from best buy for $100 yesterday morning.. needless to say about 10 minutes after i started using it, i was pissed at it. By the end of the day i bought another iphone 3g off craigslist.

Just found out tho, The water damage indicator on my phone didnt get wet, and my phone is still under apples factory warranty. So im taking it to the apple store tomorrow to get a replacement. gonna tell them i dont know what happened, it just randomly started going all wacky. This will be my 4th iphone since like feb/marchish.

I was just curious because I was thinking about getting my wife an iPod Touch for her Bday and I doubt I'll be willing to DL and convert movies for her very often.

but now I see they might be announcing a 3rd gen Touch with camera and mic so I will hold off on that decision until I find out.

I know it was mentioned earlier about upgrading to 3.0 and the battery life seeming worse or better... I don't know if I'm just in a frame of mind expecting it to be worse or it really is LoL.

When I re-did my phone I chose to restore and it erased everything and then I updated from a backup.

Should I have done it differently?

if you restore, and chose "setup as new iphone" instead of backup from your old one, your battery life will be MUCH better. when you restore from a backup, Basically it migrates old settings from the previous version and you have conflicting settings running in the background. Restore, and setup as a new iphone and you will get almost double the battery life. You can still sync all your old shit up from your same itunes library. Just make sure you sync right before you do it so you have all the updated contacts and apps and shit on your pc.

apple replaced my water damaged phone! I got lucky as shit. the only water damage indicator that got wet was one of the ones inside the phone on the main board. I almost got caught. I forgot the phone's serial number is on the sim tray, And i must have put the wrong sim tray in the phone, and the guy was like "i just gotta run in back and open this up, theres a serial number inside the phone" and i forgot to bleach the water damage indicator, So i was quick and i said "na just plug it in, it shows the serial number in itunes" so he did, and checked the serial number on the other sim tray to see if they matched, and was like "ok im gonna replace the phone, Just sign here, and your all set" I signed the shit, he activated the new phone, and i was on my way..

Yes, 3.1 is different from 3.0.1. Right now, it's in 3.1.3 beta. I'm sure Sept 25th is also the date that Apple will release 3.1 to us. If you're jailbroken on 3.0.1, and want to stay that way, make sure you wait until the jailbreak is ready for 3.1 before updating.

Yes, you need to swap your sim card into a different MMS capable phone and make a few calls. I left mine card in my old phone for about 15 minute before putting it back in the iphone.

There's supposed to be some numbers to input into the cellular data area like it shows in the video but that didnt work for me.

I have the same problem. i know you are suppose to put the sim card in another phone but my other phone doesnt recognize the sim card i put in it (samsung sync). September 25th isnt too far away so i can wait till then.

And like an idiot i spilled that shit and got my phone wet. so now when its plugged in to the computer, it shows the connect to itunes thing, and its stuck in recovery mode. when you try to restore it, it just keeps throwing error #9. When you unplug it, It just restarts over and over. Gets the the apple logo for like 20 seconds, then the screen goes blank.. and it keeps repeating until hte battery is dead lol. I went out and bought a samsung a177 from best buy for $100 yesterday morning.. needless to say about 10 minutes after i started using it, i was pissed at it. By the end of the day i bought another iphone 3g off craigslist. Just found out tho, The water damage indicator on my phone didnt get wet, and my phone is still under apples factory warranty. So im taking it to the apple store tomorrow to get a replacement. gonna tell them i dont know what happened, it just randomly started going all wacky. This will be my 4th iphone since like feb/marchish.

Restore, and setup as a new iphone and you will get almost double the battery life. You can still sync all your old shit up from your same itunes library. Just make sure you sync right before you do it so you have all the updated contacts and apps and shit on your pc.

I got lucky as shit. the only water damage indicator that got wet was one of the ones inside the phone on the main board. I almost got caught. I forgot the phone's serial number is on the sim tray, And i must have put the wrong sim tray in the phone, and the guy was like "i just gotta run in back and open this up, theres a serial number inside the phone" and i forgot to bleach the water damage indicator, So i was quick and i said "na just plug it in, it shows the serial number in itunes" so he did, and checked the serial number on the other sim tray to see if they matched, and was like "ok im gonna replace the phone, Just sign here, and your all set" I signed the shit, he activated the new phone, and i was on my way..
