In Pain! Welders flash remedies?

I was stupid last night and did a few quick welds without a helmet on and now Im paying the price badly.... any suggestions to help get rid of the pain? I haven't slept and I can't open my eyes without dark sunglasses on right now.

haha, yeah for those who don't know it hurts l like hell..feels like you have sand in your eyes and they get real dry and just feel like you stared at the sun for an hour, see spots.
No real remedies just use eye drops and try to keepp your eyes closed and wear sunglasses if ya go outside it will go away within a few days depending how bad you got it

Re: In Pain! Welders flash remedies?

a friend of mine who welds trailers said that if he gets welders flash he cuts a potato in half, lays down, closes his eyes, and rests the potato on his eyes. he said it works great, but i can't say if it works or not for sure. wouldn't hurt to try though...

Yeah, I've heard from two good friends of mine that the potato thing works. I'd say that, eyedrops, and sunglasses will be the best things you can do.

Potatos brother. I did the same thing. It F#($ed my eyes up. Potato until they feel warm over your eyes, then use new slices of potato.

Re: In Pain! Welders flash remedies?

Potatoes do work. i dont cut them in half. I cut them like cucumber slices and put them on your eyes if that happens again. You have to keep your eyes closed but it works. i did that a few times when i had a defective lens on my welding helmet. thats the only thing I found works. eye drops dont do crap

Re: In Pain! Welders flash remedies?

use the Potatoes i have had flash burn many times and the Potatoes are the best thing to do

If anyone is wondering what flashburn is it is sun burn on your eyeballs, you have tons of little blisters on your eyes (Thats why they fill sandy)and they pop when you open and close your eyes

I dont see how he can look at the computer, last time i had it i could'nt at all
