water.
steak.
fish.
greens.

massive amounts of weight.
push your self while lifting, if your going for becoming stronger use alot of weight, as much as u can in a short period
if u want to get ripped, use a moderate amount of weight, but do 5 sets of 10, with a 5 min break or something like that

Re: I'M STILL LIFTING!!!! Anyone else? (Pics Included)

I've been lifting for about 9 months now, but only for the last month have I been paying any attention to my diet. Here's my daily schedule:

Breakfast 8 a.m.
4 egg whites, 1 egg yolk
1 cup Cherrios w/ skim milk
Multivitamin

Lift at 9 a.m.

Post workout shake 10 a.m.
2 cups skim milk
2 scoops ON whey Protien
1 banana
2 tbsp peanut butter

Meal @ 12
Can of Tuna
Whole grain bread
some kind of green veggie

Meal @ 2 p.m.
1 scoop ON whey
1 cup skim milk
1/2 banana
1 tbsp Peanut Butter

Meal @ 4 p.m.
4-6 oz. of lean chicken or turkey in a sandwich
Piece of Fruit

Meal @ 6 p.m.
1 scoop ON whey
1 cup skim milk
1/2 banana
1 tbsp Peanut Butter

Meal @ 8 p.m.
Usually More tuna, or grilled fish
Veggies
Whole grain roll

Bedtime meal @ 11 p.m.
Handful or two of almonds
nonfat yogurt cup

How does it look? I'm trying to eat clean, instead of whatever the hell I wanted for 3 giant meals per day. I figure if I was able to do that and not gain fat, then this should help me get in better shape. I try to get all of these meals in, but alot of the time I miss one or two. I also drink alot of water, 1-2 gallons per day. Thanks for the help.

The Protein shakes at 2 and 6 are because I usually work from 12-8, it's hard to get any real food down except for my break at 4, and I don't like waiting more than 4 hours to eat. Also, I thought you were supposed to eat every two hours even late, because it keeps your metabolism going?

Re: I'M STILL LIFTING!!!! Anyone else? (Pics Included)

any supplements?

im not a fan of any supplements but i know that some people love them, luckily i have the mass not to need to supplements and am just big naturally. But you are making lots of progress definatley. Keep it up.

Ive never had a diet, but also im not as cut as i would like to be. I have been on a plateu for about 2 monthes now but Im actually starting to gain strength again and have alot more energy then i used to since i started drinking this stuff called mona vie mom my mom has. Also have lost 5lbs in the past 2 weeks on it. I just mix it with cranberry juice in the morning and night and its great stuff definatley helps me out, also i had hearburn so bad i was on prilosec and now im completely off of it since taking this shit.

abs...oh those are killer... you need two things for great abs.. a killer diet, and a killer workout.. really, if you try to incorporate a decent ab workout every other day, you'd be well on your way.. making sure you hit every part of the ab is important, too..

leg lifts, weighted crunches, and the core machine (pull up with legs and pull down with upper body= kills abs)

If you're trying to bulk, and gain weight, your diet looks pretty decent.
Pretty well rounded, and similar to mine. Took me a long ass time to get it in check.

Now I love to eat and I don't miss any meals.

ive always heard not to but then again it depends on what your goals are (losin or gainin) my trainer has my food plan set up to where my last meal is around 6 but i do have a shake around 10 or 11 before i go to bed.....i believe the reason not to eat past 6 is so by the time you go to sleep your body has shut down....to where if you eat at 11 and go to bed at 1130 your body works through the night and you dont get that good rest....then you kick start your metabolism first thing in the morning with a good breakfast....thats just what ive been told and read however i could be wrong but it does make sense to me.....also if i was in a position to where i couldnt eat while workin i would do the same thing you are i do agree better to eat something then to wait 4 hours

Re: I'M STILL LIFTING!!!! Anyone else? (Pics Included)

Umm i dont work out i did alittle for track,I tried the squat for the first time, and deadlift!
Height 5'10
I weigh 145
Bench=175
Squat=325 (First time ever)
Deadlift 305 (First time ever) Good or no?
I'm not ripped but look like a tough litte focker!

i play b-ball,and go out for track,i do polymetric stuff, and overspeed training!IT DOES WORK! We have a 6'5 guy on our b-ball team that can dunk, right?Well i'm 5'10 and can dunk on his ass with two hands, its kind hard to do it with one cuz i got small hands and cant hold on! My verticle leap is 36 inches or more by now! His is like 25-28',If i was his height,i could do alot more, lol!I dont eat healhty,i have no weightlifting routine.I dunno i dont go out for football so i dont need to be bulky! With overspeed training,my track times went from 11.8 in the 100m to breaking a school record,by next year i should run 10.8-11.0!It was my first year out for sports an i made it to secionals, but injured my my hip flexer, guys i beat numerous times went to state ,so next year it should be a cake walk!Since most of them were seniors,i was a sophomore!

I would say that you have really good genetics when it comes to leg strength. You are squatting and deadlifting over double your bodyweight, which is good. Since you never lifted weights, that is REALLY good and somewhat rare.

In other words, I won't respond, and I'll bite my tongue (...errr fingers?). Really though.

Weighing 145, and squatting 325 on your first time ever is a little hard to believe, since it takes most people a long ass time to understand what form is. Even with smaller amounts of weight. Putting that on your shoulders and putting your ass on the floor right off the bat with two times your body weight... yeah.

Just going by what the original poster said, no lifting routine, no healthy eating, a lot of cardio, etcetc. That's just me though. So whatever.

House, what's up.

Hey Matt!

Yeah. I know its really rare, basically like 1 in a million (or more). If it was true, he has a great future in powerlifting. But yeah, I know what you mean. Even pro bodybuilders didn't even start at those stats. But, I was giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Ok,it wasn't my first squat,i started like 200, and went up from there but i was my first day squating,if you want some pics i'm sure i could head down to the weight room at school and get one.I'm not a bullshitter in anyway, but yes i have some wicked strong legs, that what you get for living on a farm! I am by far the fastest kid in school and can jump the highest, but if you dont want to believe me o-well!Like i said polymetrics works, its all leg workouts, and i've been doing it for 3 months!Look it up,and see what ppl say about it,i gained a good 8 inches in my verticle leap,in three months!i trained for hurdles ,high jump, triple jump, long jump, and sprinting! Look me up i am a top finisher in my division!

Re: I'M STILL LIFTING!!!! Anyone else? (Pics Included)

I just started going to the gym 2 weeks ago. Havent noticed any differences yet but ive already lost 5 lbs working at DHL throwing boxes around. Im 5'6 190 lbs. I'll try and get some pictures up sometime. At the gym though im trying to lose a few pounds more than build muscle, im already bulky enough.

So your diet is crap and you are one of the fastest kids in your school? It's called genetics. I'm not saying you are a liar. I'm just saying its rare. Being 5'10" and 145 is skinny. I mean REALLY skinny. Its not really easy to believe someone that looks like they could break in two can handle 300+ pounds on their back. You might as well say that you have a 10" cock.

Hmmmm... I guess you misunderstood me again. I never said I doubted you. And also, you said you were fast and not too strong. If you are 145 pounds and can squat 325 and you never weightlifted, that is pretty rare. So, please forgive those that doubt you, mkay? I'm not saying its not possible, but just saying its rare. You should consider yourself lucky and keep going with track and everything. You got a good future ahead of you

Re: I'M STILL LIFTING!!!! Anyone else? (Pics Included)

i can understand the genes thing. first time doing dead lifts i did 135 no prob, buddies went up so did i. next was 225 did that good form, so we went up again. 315 this time got it up but my left hand couldn't hold the weight i dropped it. decent form, but they were amazed i weighed 145 at the time. i haven't done them since. i have been working on my grip strength though.

Re: I'M STILL LIFTING!!!! Anyone else? (Pics Included)

well like i said the guys i was with were 6'2" or so and 240-290 pounds and they were doing 375+ but i stopped at 315. i didn't think nothing about it till i asked a couple of people if that was any good. and everyone was like "HELL YEAH it's good!"

so after my first 3 months in the gym i get to start my next routine and deadlifts are included in that. so we will see what i can and can not do!

Re: I'M STILL LIFTING!!!! Anyone else? (Pics Included)

nice job man. you should try some creatine. that should help. ive taken animal pak. its great besides the highlighter pee.

if you are looking into creatine and you dont want the water weight look try SAN's v12 turbo. its a tri creatine malete so there isnt any water wait. I weighted 156 starting on it and at the end of two months i was so much stronger and weighted about 169. even a month off of it i only dropped to about 165 and kept it on.

either way another way to help you put on weight is diong powerlifting or core excerises that work more than one body part. try deadlifting on the days you squat or cleans. once i switched over to some more powerlifting stuff i got so much stronger and looked like i added alot more mass.

No need to be a smartass.

However, if you're so eager to prove yourself I will gladly take a video of you, with no weightlifting experience squatting 325. I'd like to see good form, and your ass about 8 inches from the floor. Feel free to take a vid of the deadlifting 305 at the same time, I mean might as well right.

No quarter squatting or doing sumo deadlifts. While we're at it, no belt either

When lifting heavy, I wear some knee braces because I raced bmx for like 7 years. So my knees are pretty worked over. When I squat when lifting heavy my knees sound like fire crackers popping all crazy.

Other than that, I use gloves on certain exercises when lifting heavy. My hands are my life, so I don't want to be messing with people with some gnar mangled hands.

My knees are the same way. I used to squat with my feet really close and my knees went well past my toe. After looking back, I'm surprised I never blew my knee out. I should be using knee wraps or braces when I squat, but I've been too lazy.

I'm actually going to start doing heavy good mornings instead of squatting. My hams are weak as hell so those should help out a lot. Plus, Louie Simmons and the guys over at Westside Barbell use them as a staple in their workouts.

As for the mangled hands, its good to keep your hands well groomed. The chicks dig it!

Re: I'M STILL LIFTING!!!! Anyone else? (Pics Included)

lol i weighed around 250 for a couple years of my life, once i got down to about 210 i squated for the first time. i did 260, how the hell could you do 325? just running you wouldnt build that strength in your legs. gods an asshole.

Yeah, I'm an EMT, and Nursing student. So almost 100% of my day is hands on.

I've shook hands with some random people who lift and it's like sand paper.

Not my styleeeeeeeeeee.
