I need some opinions....

Well I am a graphic designer and I am taking a corporate branding class at the moment. Well my project at the moment is creating/designing a product and its packaging. Well I came up with a juice box holder with an organic mesh top that allows the straw to be inserted anywhere while maintaining the seal. It's a kind of self healing material that once the straw was removed it would fill back into the hole. This is the product logo I have developed, it is targeted at kids ages 1-5. This is the logo I have so far, any suggestions on how to create the prototype and improve on the logo?

Kinda hard to read. I was like, Sea n Sup, no, Sea n Sip, no, Seal n Sip. ah ha!

and maybe it should be Sip n Seal since you Sip on your drink first then pull the straw out and Seal it... and it rolls off the tongue better.

Well I chose Seal -n- Sip because you put the juice box inside and then drink it. No spills in the car with the kids squeezing juice boxes and crap. I had the "l" on the end of Seal and my teacher wanted to see the "l" become a straw but I am not so sure about it.

Do you see any other ways to incorporate the straw without using it as a letter?

Short of just sticking it in the background and making it look like a cartoonish bendy straw, not really....

you have great design if i were you i would just move "sip" over tho the right ...f it here

oh and another thing people read from left to right so the -n- doesnt really work on the left.
made a similar mistake in class also

Thanks, do you like the green more? I read that Orange is related to kid things. I originally had it green but not neon lime green like that.

I think its alright, you aren't targeting kids 1 to 5 though you are targeting their parents

your welcome. well green is the most restful color to the human eye. so yeah lime green works along with the yellow borders , i can see it on a juice box of some sort actually

lol yeah its hard to see at first , therefore o nthe shelf it will cause you to think twice!

btw MeltingPlastic so what ever happened to that dude with his girl in his apartment? he end up getting arrested?

yea, i received a letter about 2 weeks later stating that he was released on bail and was not to contact me. I don't know anything else about the situation. Turns out my brother-in-law knows the guy and some of his history as his brother hangs out at the bar their family owns... thats about it.. i'm waiting to get called into court or something but the cops in that town are morons cause they sent all this stuff to my parents house yet i have a nice change of address sticker to my apartment on my license... glad for them to notice that

try and make it sip -n- seal. just to see if it looks better, using the origianl sip and straw at the top then the -n- in the middlle towards the right then seal at the bottom.

i like the last one, i think it pops out at you more, but it's totally up to you. . .also, i've heard that orange appeals to children more too. . .not sure why that is, but i guess it makes sense why alot of us as kids like orange soda or sunny d, and we really don't like it as much as adults. . .and regardless if it's not the kids that buy the product, they are the one's sitting in the cart pointing at the product yelling "buy me that", so using orange in the color scheme may not be a bad idea. . .

The top one. The "L" straw looks mucho better like that than coming out of the dot in the "i" for legibility purposes. And since your instructor said he wanted to see the "L" become a straw, I'd say go that route since that's who you're ultimately trying to impress right now.

When I open this thread, the first thing I saw was a "Sea N Sip" logo.

After reading the post, I see it as seal N Sip, but that kinda makes no sense. Why would you Seal then Sip? You would Sip, then seal.

+1 on the "Sip N Seal" instead. Consumers will definately question as to why it sounds ass backwards.
And I know I aint drinkin no ass backward juiceboxes..
Though I do dig the straw being the L, when i see "Seal" in the same font, I instantly think of the beaten animal..
So Flip the Sip and the Seal around, and make the background behind the words like the base of the drink lid, with the "L" punched through it.

Sidebar:
This whole concept reminds me of some teenagers starting a band.
Before they buy instruments and learn to play them (read: actually Having a prototype of a juice box/cup made of fancy materials) they instead dream up band Names, Album names and Song titles..
Or Product logos.
