I thought i would start up a thread on the ford vs chevy dispute, your experiance and whatnot, start up a tally on the pics and videos. (i was inspired after i saw a few pictures)

Feel free to share yoru experiance, apparently this guy walked away with minor injuries.

IM gonna gave to go with chevy... i was in a wreck in my uncles 98 f150 and it was so torn up its not even funny spent some time in the hospital as well.... earlier this year we got hit in my dads 93 chevy, both are ext full size pickups, about the same area both the hit and the wreck and almost nothing happen to the truck or us. Both times the hits were by smaller cars. One for chevy!

looks like the guy in the 3500 lb. sonoma walked away from a T bone with a 12000 lb. ford, so i think the sonoma did an excellent job of protecting the driver

ford sucks. my sis got rearended in her windstar by her boyfriends s10, it fcked up the rear hatch on the van and barley scratched his s10. so thats another point for chevy.

i hit a tree at 65+ with no seatbelt and no airbag (not chevys fault, dealership sold me a truck that had the airbag removed) and i climbed out of the truck before i passed out from my head injuries...

but i should have died

Only thing I don't like about Rangers is when you hit the gas from a stop, it just feels like the whole drivetrain is twisting. Weird feeling, they have a tsb on the driveshaft where you lube the input splines. It helps, but still a Ranger will never feel as solid as an S10. Other than that, nice truck.

oh i would much rather have a s10 or sonoma.. they look, feel and drive better then the ranger...

but.... there is NO preowned s10s or sonoma's anywhere, and if they do got them they are in bad shape, too pricey for a used truck or are 4 cylinder..

yeah it sucks.. there was a 2003 s10 zq8 with a locker tonnaeu cover and it didnt say how much mileage, but it was for $17,500

and my dad said fock that, we could buy a brand new 06 ranger for that, and its brand new..

and the interest rate on used trucks is insane.. it freakin' sucks.. and carmax you have to pay for warranties, they only give you 30 days.. so im in a bad situation.. i wish they still made sonoma's man...

Wow sounds like a great plan. You know the second you drive off the lot you just lost $4K?? So in one year or so you are not even going to have paid off that on the loan. Maybe you are rich and pay cash so then I am wrong. But going from one car to another like that you might want to LEASE a truck then.

It has 145k miles, engines running like shit right now.. I used it over a year for deliveries, before that it was used for deliveries..

I got tons of electrical problems, AC needs to be fixed, wheel seals are leaking..

By the time I save enough to fix all those problems, the truck will take a shit, and I'll have to save another few grand just to get a new engine..

I got less then $700 cash in hand.. im stuck in a tough position, I might as well go for the new truck.. but what do you think i should do?

theres NO preowned s10s or sonomas in my area.. if their is, they are crap or just as expensive as a new truck..

hmm i got my 99 stick 2.2 dime for 2k with 68k miles on it... .im gonna say it was gone to shiat though but that was only the body, got a new truck bed, new hood, new tailgate and installed a stereo, new battery, plugs, wires, oil, roll pan, and everthing else ive done... its come to about 3.5k so far. I guess i got lucky or at least i think so.

shoot go on ebay they have 2.2 motors for like anywhere from 500 to 700 .
hear is a link to a page listing for s10 motors. there is a 2.2 with less than 100 miles on it for 750 buy it now, shipping could be up to about 300 im guessing, depends on how far away you live from where its coming from.

It has 145k miles, engines running like shit right now.. I used it over a year for deliveries, before that it was used for deliveries.. I got tons of electrical problems, AC needs to be fixed, wheel seals are leaking.. By the time I save enough to fix all those problems, the truck will take a shit, and I'll have to save another few grand just to get a new engine.. I got less then $700 cash in hand.. im stuck in a tough position, I might as well go for the new truck.. but what do you think i should do? theres NO preowned s10s or sonomas in my area.. if their is, they are crap or just as expensive as a new truck..

(pics, stories, videos) hmm i got my 99 stick 2.2 dime for 2k with 68k miles on it... .im gonna say it was gone to shiat though but that was only the body, got a new truck bed, new hood, new tailgate and installed a stereo, new battery, plugs, wires, oil, roll pan, and everthing else ive done... its come to about 3.5k so far. I guess i got lucky or at least i think so.
