Business name ideas?

Ok guys, ive been workin on getting my new shop together, and now im stuck on a name..... its an auto repair shop btw.

If this helps, heres some specs that might help for ideas. I guess "Mike's Auto" is my last resort, cuz i just dont feel that that rings so well....
-My name is Mike lol
-its on Chestnut St. in Emerson, NJ
-? i dont know what else could be useful here

Any ideas? I want it to sound professional, but friendly

Mikes hack shack?

haha. I dunno man. Shop names are tough making names fit with them and having a ring to them.

Call it Mikes auto shop in Emerson?

Re: Business name ideas?

look in the phonebook first so you don't try to use a name of a current shop in the area.

Re: Business name ideas?

thanks for the replies, guys..... heres my problem..... Emerson Auto Body is one block over.... granted thats a body shop, but it can be confusing. Also, i hate my last name, cuz it affiliates me with my dirtbag father, whom i havent spoken to in 10+years.... And i dont wanna put custom in the name, cuz the majority of work is repair, and i don't want potential customers to overlook me, thinking its strictly a custom shop.

Re: Business name ideas?

yea, thats probably what im gonna do. Just wanted to see if anyone else had anything better. i gotta register the business name in the next week or so. Best part is.... i run my shop alone..... have since 2003, and not only have i not told my boss yet, but my shop is 4 doors down the street . That doesnt bother me tho, cuz there is no chance of his shop staying open, since his drug habits/laziness has gotten him into 10k+ debt.... im finally ready to stop making someone else money for nothing

ummmm.... its more than that..... truthfully, he owes everybody, and has no intention on paying..... the best motivation i got to leave was that im scared the business is gonna get seized for non payment, and all my stuff is in there.....

depending on the price of the machine, i might have to wait.... for now im gonna probably just use my gauges, scale, vacuum pump, etc.

you can pm me a price if you want

Re: Business name ideas?

yeah, there's a "Mike's transmission" a few miles down the highway and we get like three calls a day at least for that place.
i mean really all the shops around here are pretty plain jane, "John Michaels", "Joes" "Mike's" "Rudy's" etc etc.
just make your sign catchy or something and keep the place clean and things like that. do you live in a small town

I like Emerson Auto Repair. Stay away from the common first and last name they are pretty cliche' IMO.

Re: Business name ideas?

What about "Auto Work by Mike?" Or something random like, "NJ Auto" make people think your a really big shop.

Or Garden State Auto Repairs

Anyways good luck on your new shop Mike. You have my business.

Re: Business name ideas?

Excellence Automotive, Premiere Automotive, Exquisite Automotive Engineering...

Slogan: We Repair It So It Brakes! (Direct Tire's is: We Fix it so it brakes)

Also i would look into not using the Repair word, even though that is what is being done. I would say like Automotive Technology, Engineering...
