anyone else think bagged trucks without a bed are sexy

whenever i see a bagged project without a bed rolling down the street, i think it looks so much better than finished with a bed. anyone else agree? I plan on bagging a truck for my next project and i totally wanna make a custom rear half with some nice cantilevers and have some round trailer fenders molded into the frame and go bed-less. anyone else think that would look sick?!

Thinking/saying a truck or any other project car looks good missing body panels or decent paint is just justification for not having the skills or money to finish the project. I understand driving a vehicle like that in the interim, however, it should never be accepted as the final product IMO.

Well I feel like cutting the bed out takes away from being a truck as well, when you see a tractor trailer without a trailer it doesn't look unfinished or not proper, if you have beautiful welds and a custom frame, why hide it under a false bed. And I think cut up bodies look much worse than no bed. It looks half assed if its cut around everything even with weather stripping or some sort of trim. Its like seeing a car with a hole in the hood to fit the wheels through. If its covered it looks good but if its worth showing off why hide it or display it through cut up sheet metal?

Not really a fan. I would much rather cut out the whole floor than run bedless. I think I have the frame work to do it but still, it looks ok laid out but not rolling.

love your truck doored. i can see why most trucks wouldnt look good bedless, but if i was ever to run bedless, i'd have fenders molded in and color matched to the cab and get creative with the gas tank and hide the air lines as much as possible and mold custom tail lights into the frame that go along with the style of the new frame. i think if done right it would look just plain sexy


EDIT: and i'd smooth out the back of the cab so its not corrugated looking

this guy built this truck to run no bed and it looks sweet rolling like it. we went to loatp and people loved it. and custom tail lights make it look better than using stock lights zip tied to the frame. to each their own.

Besides the "incomplete" part, I think that most bagged trucks rolling without beds are either incomplete or they can't figure out how to incorporate the bed in to show off the work which gives me the feeling that they can do all that fab work but can't figure the rest out, so they're stuck. (if that's saying the same thing or already been said then my bad...)

Think of it as writers-block or whatever it's called. Say you have 10 chapters to write and you wrote 9 already and now you have no way to write chapter 10 to end the story because 5-9 made it impossible. Sounds retarded but that's how I see it...

none of these pics really illustrate what i have in mind, i dont like the bumper still attached or the frame cut off before the axle, those look kinda dumb, looks too short, like they cut it off. I still stand by my original post, if its done correctly it would be awesome. when you see a convertible it doesnt look unfinished, its just another take on a roof... none at all, or a removable one... as far as a utility bed... ugly imo...
