something is missing there. He pistol whipped someone.. But he's 19 years old? You have to be 21 to carry a handgun legally. So he had illegal posession of a firearm, Plus he pulled it out and attacked someone with it, and didnt get brought up on weapons charges? he got assault charges? Thats ****ed up cops let him off easy.

Re: 1st Degree Assault

This offense is a class A felony seriousness level XII. This means for a first time offender with no criminal record, the potential sentence is 93-123 months in prison and fines of up to $50,000. This is no doubt a very serious offense.

Taken from mywashingtondefenselawyer.com. He's also being tried for the shooting of a weapon, as well.

that's a pretty ignorant statement to make! The district attorney is the one who formally charges a suspect. The officer's might have tried to charge him with a more severe charge and the DA dropped it to a lesser charge. The other issue is, the way the laws are written, you have to prove the intent of the offender in order to charge certain felonies. Yes, sometimes it is obvious what a person's intent is when they have a gun, but when it comes down to it, you can't always prove the intent! just fyi it's not always "the cops" who **** up as you put it.
