1964 C10 Pickup

Any of you guys have one of these?

I ask because a local guy has one and has thrown hints to me about wanting to work up some kind of trade deal with my S10. I don't know a lot about the trucks honestly. Below I have added a link to an ad he has posted. I'm not really considering it at this point, I'm just looking to see if any of you guys have experience with or knowledge of these trucks.

Here it is...

easy to upgrade to disc brakes. easy to do a v8 swap. if you wanted to bag it can do everything with bolt-ons.

Re: 1964 C10 Pickup

If I recall correctly, the 60-66 and 67-72 are very similar, if not the same frames. I know there are litterly dozens of companies that make every part bolt on to lay it out. There are engine crossmember kits so you don't have to z the frame, bolt in notches, disc brake kits. You can build these trucks from catalogs basically.and they look damn sexy IMO.

03 QX4-litteraly bone stock. Wife's daily, and im not allowed to touch it.lol

93 Del Sol SI-FF time attack/daily build in progress. we'll see what all happens as it goes.lol

63 was the first year of coils. 60-62 had torsion bars, 60-63 had the wrap around windshield. 64-66 are basically the same, If your looking for bags, one company. Porterbuilt.

They are good trucks and very easy to upgrade, 60-63 is my favorite body style chevy of all time.

Re: 1964 C10 Pickup

My dad had a '64 stepside back in the 70's, that he bought from a local votech. It had a 1970 LS6 454, from a wrecked chevelle. Needless to say he said it was about the most radical vehicle with a "stock" motor that he's ever owned. He's owned quite a bit too.

Depending on what your truck looks like, I would definitely consider the trade. It's a very nice looking truck, especially for the age.

EDIT:

Is this your truck, that you are considering trading for?

Looks like you have done a lot with your S10 man.....might be a tough choice.

Yeah that's it... It's been a tough sell and I need to get rid of it but I'm not going to give it away. I really do like that C10 so still thinking things over. I'm going to try to go look at it over the weekend and get some photos of it.

Thanks everybody else for the knowledge and feedback

Your S10 is super nice man. Looks like a lot of time/money has been put into it. Like you said, you don't want to give it away. I'd def look that C10 over really well, and maybe ask for a few dollars thrown in with the C10 as well...

64's gonna be worth more than an S10 in the long run.
But yours is sweeeet.
If the 64 is rust free and solid, AND you feel like starting over .......

Thanks.. It has a ton of time and money in it as you would expect. I figured if I end up interested enough in it to see if he'd throw a little cash my way if he is firm on 5k.... I'm down to 6k on my s10.

I would have to pass on the trade now that I see the dime. Those old trucks are $3-5k depending on condition

I wouldn't trade... I'd sell that dime outright and spend some time searching for a decent c10 for half the price... use the extra cash to get the new project rolling.

Check out 67-72chevytrucks.com, great site and they cover pretty much every year of Chevy truck.

IMHO, I wouldn't trade. I don't know what prices are like around you, but this body style of truck seems to go for $1500-3000. If the "all original" part is worth something to you, then cool, but if you just want a driver then there are better deals out there.
