That's pretty neat. I like the tag on the radio that has the diagnosis instructions.

Man O man, positive ground systems, I had forgotten that was the way back then on some cars!
When your looking in from the top or side there it's amazing how small things have gotten, it looks like a typical circuit board now a days only 10X larger!

I highly doubt there's a radio in the truck. Radios were a rare option back then even in cars. Wasn't until the 50's that some cars started coming standard with an AM radio. Prior to that they were dealer add ons for the most part.

i dont have it hooked up b/c the receiver needs a few tubes as well as the radio tuner. But it does power on. on top left of cabinet is an old garrard (sp?) record player too. Was for sale at one time but got bullshit offers

He said the Vibrator was stuck, But got it working again.

In modern Terms it is similar to a Oscillator it switches the 12VDC to simulate AC so it can be run through a transformer to get the many hundreds of volts needed for the tubes operation.

Modern amps use transistors ( high current low voltage) the old tubes used high voltage low current ( actually pretty dangerous inside when on!)
