I'm in for the black roof and tailgate! Always though that would look good, especially since you already have the hood, grille, rollpan, and tonneau all black

Oh, and I can't wait to see the big plans start to become reality

Haha yea man

Ok dudes! Today is the day! Swapping out my leafs and cheap blocks! Swapping in suspension source drop leafs and jtr blocks n setback plates, also I'm replacing my factory u joints with some spicer solid cross's...

I'll also be spraying at least the back half of my frame, is its been a few years and it's lookin pretty dull/ rusty!

Oh and might I add, **** cheap u bolts! I was runnin the ebay spring tech or whatever they're called.... Ended up cutting those bitches off!

re: 1Low4x4's Crew Cab Guide

Well my frame was really rusty!! Took a scraper to it and the paint just fell off!!

Then I took a rust remover wheel to the whole frame, sorry no pics of that..
Then sprayed rust oleum rust stuff over the frame, then hit it with loss black

I then got my new leafs on from SS, and jtr blocks, setbacks and u bolts...

I busted the rear driver bolt taking it out, so that's why one bolt is new lol... Lowes saved me on that one, no parts stores had replacements!!

I also painte up my brakes and rear axle, and installed spicer u joints in the driveshaft, got it all back together!

Also, swapped out spacers for 1.5" spacers, this time spraying with brake caliper paint, the aluminum look of the spacer was pretty tacky behind black wheels...

The 1/4 inch difference from old to new spacers made quite a difference in person, looks alot better IMO

The truck site a little lower with very little air in the shocks, Cali low... Lol!

But I can't ride like that until I trim my rear fenders so i don't eat up my sidewalls...

All n all, the leafs make the truck ride Awsome!!!! Screw pulling a leaf on stock packs, and adding big blocks, I shoulda done this from the beginning!!!

Storm is comin in tonight, but ima get er nice n cleaned up after the storm passes.

Those air shocks are probably keeping his axle off the frame. I used to paint stuff down there but after a week or two it looks just like it did before and I got tired of carrying a can of black spray paint in my center console lol.

Yeah I know, I just mean if he wants to ride with them aired out I used POR15 and POR chassis black on my frame and it still looks like the day I painted it on there.

re: 1Low4x4's Crew Cab Guide

My paint lasts all spring and summer, it's not until Utah winter that mine starts to dull.... Been doin it on all my cars n trucks.... Soooooo yea... Either way, it's better then it did, and I sed auozone rewards on it, paid ten bikes for three cans of paint and the rust remover wheel.... So I'm happy with it!

Also, yea of I'm aired out and I trim my fender flares, I will likely need a mini notch on those really big dips in the road...

I still haven't driven it on the freeway, but seams like all will be good... Either way, I'm way excited to have this done.... It was embarrassing showing people pics of my rear end or letting people look under it lol that's why I haven't had my exhaust built yet.... I don't want my exhaust buddy seeing a pulled leaf and huge blocks with my u bolts hanging damn near to the ground...man I'm glad it's all taken care of!!!!

re: 1Low4x4's Crew Cab Guide

Took the truck on her first freeway run! Went about ten miles, zero vibrations! Even on the big dips where I have alot of upward travel, so I'm ruling my old vibration issue as my driveshaft was to far in the output shaft.... JTR SETBACKS FTW!!!!!

Nice! It's always a good feeling when you fix something really annoying like a driveline vibration

You know, if you're wanting a little bit extra drop (and ground clearance) you could swap your 4wd front leaf spring mounts for 2wd ones

Yea the vibration wasn't bad at all, really only when I had alot of upward travel, but I think I had just gotten used to it, it now feels like I'm driving a whole new truck! Almost didn't go home after work this morning I just wanted to drive! Lol

As far as more drop goes, I need my BJ plates bro! Then we will talk more drop lol

re: 1Low4x4's Crew Cab Guide

Well little update, gotta pass inspections soon and my tailpipe is cut just before my axle, so it definitely won't pass at the moment, sitting in the exhaust shop, getting a magnaflow muffler put on, dual exits, gonna run it out the side right behind my wheelS on each side, everything will be painted black, and the dudes are throwin in some 8" rectangle "z28" tips for free, figure of I don't like it later on, I'll cut them bitches off and just sport a hidden exhaust..... We shall see!! Stay tuned for pix and maybe video!

Can't see the pipes at all with accepting of the tips... In person I think they fit the truck well, overall i like the setup, magnaflow muffler isn't nearly as loud as I was expecting, but hopefully after a few hundred miles it lets out a little more sound.

re: 1Low4x4's Crew Cab Guide

Lol it's okay, can't do everything mostyles.... Lol!

Ima sport it for a bit, only thing is they painted the entire exhaust, and the black paint is more flat black, ima try n find some exhaust pair in semi gloss, see if I can match the tips with the wheels....

Another update, found an OEM optioned fiberglass tonneau cover.... For $65 dollars!!! With hardware..... I'm tempted to use it and ditch y home made one, this way shaving my tailgate and securing my bed will be much better..... It's not flush obviously, but damn... So cheap... So tempting

Thanks! I feel as though the z28 tips fit a but better due to the cab being so long, I really don't like them mounted straight out back like most prople do....Better pics soon, you'll see what I mean...

re: 1Low4x4's Crew Cab Guide

Yea uhhh.......funny story.... Dude who gave me the quote told me new Utah law: if the vehicle didn't come with pre rear wheel exhaust from factory it is illegal to add one....

AFTER my exhaust was done the manager said (when I mentioned Utah state law changes) that that's only applicable to PASSENGER CARS. Not applicable to trucks.... WTF!

Thanks dude.... For clearing that up NOW.....

One day, maybe in a few years, I'll route it out in front

You should pick up these fenders:

http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f293/hombre-parts-487444/

Then graft the S10/Sonoma leading edge onto them, and then pick up another pair of crewcab rear flares to modify and make fit on the front

Little update everyone!

Picked up that glass cover I was talking about yesterday, 65 bucks is hella cheap, so I went for it!

Needs new locks, and shocks.... But I don't think those will be to pricey. It's green, and pretty scratched up, I guess it was on a hunting truck... It's seen it's share of trees!
Gonna try n get it all fixed up, and wearing black paint here in the next week or so...

re: 1Low4x4's Crew Cab Guide

Honestly I see me picking up an s10 bed, and sectionong the front to be THR same size as my hombre style bed.... I think that's be easier then modding hombre fenders and trying to find or make flares for the front..

Or just cut the bed sides off a s10 and replace just the side panels...

You could do that too. I just always thought the hombre fender bulges would look good underneath rear crew flares or Xtreme flares

Meh....the bulges would look alot better if the fender well was the same as the s10... Rather then have to use real flares to make it somewhat appear like an s10 wheel well arch.....

Couple little better pics to show the exhaust I put on it and the new tonneau cover..

Overall I'm happy with the exhaust, the tips may be a little much, but I'm im gonna sport em for a while, the magnaflow muffler is sounding better now that I got some miles put on it, and im impressed with the work the exhaust shop did underneath... Really clean..

The tonneau, as you can tell.... Needs some work... The driver side sits almost an inch lower then the passenger side, I dunno if it's the cover or my bed, but I'll figure that out when I have some time... Got to sand it down anyways... Pewter/black truck with Forrest green cover.... Lol no good

That's why the Xtreme flares are perfect for this... they also help close up the gap between your wheels and fenders and make you look lower
