Sorry for all the Q's, and I know this isn't a TV show where everything gets done within a week, but that just seems like a well lengthened scheduling to me.

Kenny is going to be shooting the color and Bob Thrash wants to shoot the graphics and two tone at his shop in Manteno, IL. We may just end up having it cleared at his shop but only time will tell.

The schedule is a catch 22 as Kenny is wrapping up my Dad's 57 and a Camaro for Sema so he is stretched a little thin. Once the 57 is complete then he going to spend more time on mine since my deadline is March 08.

Re: Syborg Twin Turbo

1st - Awesome build!!!

2nd - Kenny's Love Shack ! I know what you mean, I stayed there a couple of years ago on our way to SEMA.

3rd - That things gonna have a ton of trailered miles on it going from Arkansas to Illinois and back but it's all worth it to have the best in the business working on it

Re: Syborg Twin Turbo

Good Morning All,

Quick Update.......

I met with the guy's from Air Ride at Indy Good Guy's.
After Talking with Jeremy we decided that we needed to upgrade the suspension on Syborg to the new Level Pro system.

Normally I would show you pictures of the actual parts but then we all know Kenny's not good with Pictures.
So the good guy's at Air Ride sent me there catalog images just in case.

Below is the new ARC4000L System.
It has some pretty cool features instead of me telling you in my words I figured it would be easier to just do a cut and past from Air Rides Site.

http://www.ridetech.com/productinfo/levelpro.asp

There new Pocket size remote control.

The new LevelPro™ leveling system is the most advanced air suspension control system available today.
It is the result of several years of development by “hands on” engineers and refinement in real world vehicles.

The LevelPro™ system uses a unique combination of ride height sensors AND air pressure sensors to quickly achieve your selected ride height.
By comparing the position of the ride height sensor to the air pressure the vehicle is leveled with no crossloading.

FEATURES
• More accurate leveling of ride height sensors in addition to air pressure sensors allows extremely accurate vehicle leveling with no crossloading

• Better air pressure sensors
New voltage based air pressure sensors eliminate EMI interference and grounding problems that can lead to inaccurate pressure readings and ride heights. This new voltage based sensor has more resolution [accuracy] and quicker response to allow faster and more accurate air pressure presets. It’s also smaller in diameter to allow direct installation into the RidePro® and BigRed solenoid blocks to eliminate remote mounting panels with extra lines and fittings.

• Easier viewing in bright light from any angle
VFD [vacuum florescent display] instead of an LCD [liquid crystal display]

• Ride-height-on-start
Each time the vehicle is started it will automatically go to highway ride height.

• Control panel programming
All programming [including the ride-height-on- start feature] can be accessed from the control panel so you can hide the ECU and still have easy access to all programming functions.

• 3 ‘1 touch’ ride height presets
Accessible from control panel.
These ride heights are programmed by a simple push and hold action similar to programming a radio station preset.
No secret sequence of buttons to push!

• Backlit soft touch silicone buttons
Easier actuation by feel, no diverting your eyes from the road to see which button you're pushing!

• Extruded aluminum ECU
More robust to avoid physical damage during installation

Re: Syborg Twin Turbo

Damn that's a sick Air ride system, you still gonna have any FBSS switches or anything like that for it, or just the 3 programmer ride heights?

How's that system work for handling?

in essence yes. When we moved the firewall back it gave us a little more room for the tires.

We had to clearence this area for the downpipe.

I read up on that a bit ago when it came out, if you look on the "switch box" that it comes with you still have individual control of each corner. Then you have the 3 ride heights you can program in to it.

Were shooting for Detroit Autorama in 08 then end the year at Sema. I'll be doing about 10 shows next year - should be fun.

Re: Syborg Twin Turbo

Good Afternoon All,

The cab is back from the Powder Coaters.
Kenny said it looks really good and he's very happy.

Instead of media blasting the cab to remove all of the paint they decided to cook it off.
How would you like to be in that oven?

He's got one of those Tripods and he still takes blurry pics.
Travis can you please help him or do I have to buy him one of those steady shot camera's?

Wait he must have gotten the Tripod out for this picture.
Seems down south they will do anything for a great but shot.

Ps - I've spared everyone's eye's and painted in a longer shirt.

Truth be told if anyone is every looking for a great shop to work with the guy's at
Kenny's shop are a blast to work with. They are totally laid back and have way to much fun.

Re: Syborg Twin Turbo

Good Morning All,

As you know the cab is back from the Powder Coaters and ready to get some Primer to Protect it.

What is shocking is that Kenny took these pics at 6:37am on a Saturday Morning.

Question Re: Syborg Twin Turbo

Looks awesome. Keep it going. Couple of questions...

First, I was glad to hear you didn't media blast the cab to get everything off. I hear that can warp the metal pretty bad. But then I heard you cooked it off which is something I have never heard of doing. I would think that would cause more harm than good to the cab with warpage, weakening, etc.

Second, I would also think that powdercoating the cab would also create some interesting warping, etc. It looks great but old metal like that isn't the thickest to start off with from the beginning. Did these questions ever come up or ? Interested to find out.

Also, if you do end up making it to SEMA 08', I'll see you there. Haven't missed a year yet.

The cab was originally media blasted back in April of 2004 ( wow ). After it came back from the media blaster the body shop smoothed the firewall and repaired the driverside Rocker Front. Very small rust spot,

Jay over at Pro-Tek Powder Caoting & Plastic Media Blasting is very good with the Media blaster and hasn't damaged or warped any of my projects Yet.
