Re: Space Blue ZQ8 Project

Jeezz...people like that are why we can't have nice things.

Last night I almost saw a younger guy in an Escape run straight into a pole from a stop light...Just accelerated straight into the pole. I don't what to do with people anymore.

Either way, that's my cool story for today.

At-least the bed didn't get damaged...

Did the bumper dig into the bed in the wreck? I Hope you get it sorted out because your space blue truck is steller.

Re: Space Blue ZQ8 Project

Take note that rear end is wider than your current one. You'll need to cut the bump stops off of it and flip the brake lines.

Re: Space Blue ZQ8 Project

Yeah I'd probably just sell that. Having it narrowed would end up costing more than what you could get another one for.

Re: Space Blue ZQ8 Project

Grab the wheels off your 4x4 s10 and see if the wheels line up better before you go out buying vette wheels.

But yeah, it really might be just too wide...

Re: Space Blue ZQ8 Project

Is the track also different on 2wd models?

the 4x4s the rear axle is about 3'' narrower than the front width.

6'' bs wheels and probably some front spacers and this truck will have very nice flush wheels.

Re: Space Blue ZQ8 Project

I really dont think any corvette wheel will fit. The ZR2 is 4 wider per side, and most run 2.5-3.0 spacers to get the wheels sitting where they want them.

Re: Space Blue ZQ8 Project

The ZR2s are 4'' wider track 2'' per side, but the rear axles are 3'' more narrow than the front wheel's width, same with the regular 4x4s.

Re: Space Blue ZQ8 Project

Well it now looks like I'm going to disassemble both rear ends, use the 3.73s and brakes from the ZR2 rear end and put them in the original rear end. That way I can also have an excuse to upgrade the carrier too.

Re: Space Blue ZQ8 Project

You can't swap the gears. They are 2 different sizes and do not swap. That's why the 8.5 rear end is stronger, it has larger gears. They will not work in a 7.5 housing.
