Re: something ive always wanted to build..

yes, its for sale. my priorities have changed in life over the past year really, i have alot of other things id rather focus on, plus its nice to have the falcon, just start it up and go. ive sold my welder and plasma cutter and some other shit, long story short, i moved from my moms, and i want to get all of my shit out of the garage. anyone wanna buy this car? i need to move it soon or im going to part it out. any serious offers, send me a mesage. i may consider a trade. let me know. i prefer cash, honestly, but ill consider offers....

and sorry everyone, i do wanna complete this car complete, just dont have the time or will to work on this anymore. i figure if someone buys it, id love to see it completed and i know ill never finish it.

Well damn. Sorry to hear this. I was looking forward to seeing it complete. I know how life gets in the way. Good luck with your new falcon and try to at least keep us updated on it. Maybe start a thread for it?

If I could figure out where to come up with the money I'd consider buying this but funds are a little low at moment.

This is one of the coolest things I've ever seen, I love when someone puts in the work to make cars like these cool!

2 grand is a hell of a steal for everything, wish I could bring it home!

Re: something ive always wanted to build..

ok, so after sitting on the car for awhile and my buddy picked up the little shop special, ive got the itch to work on something again...so ive spent about 300$ on shit i needed to buy for the car, i bought a 20 circuit wiring harness, i had the TPI standalone harness with the ecm/prom setup for my engine, i bought all the gaskets and fuel pump for the engine. ordered a mini starter and plan to start working on the motor next week to get it together and running. im also working on the seat brackets to get the front seats actually mounted in the car.

ive also been considering running a set of 17"s on the car...

Re: something ive always wanted to build..

its still around. im actually really excited about getting this done. im hoping to take the engine to my moms boyfriends(he owns and operates a garage) and have him help me get the engine together fully and use the lift and take the body off the car and get the loose ends tied up on the frame.

Re: something ive always wanted to build..

yeah actually, i welded 1x1 to the original flooring that was attached to the rocker in the front, and the rear was welded into the inner skin, i made pieces out of 1/8" plate with holes drilled in the them and fully welded them to the inner skin, and then welded 1x1 in the rear , i used 1/2" and 5/8" round stock for tranny tunnel. i made 1/4" plates for the mounts to attach the body to the frame. the floor frame only took like 4 hours if i recall correctly. pretty easy once i had a rough idea of what i wanted

Re: something ive always wanted to build..

i got the driver seat mounted. its higher than i wanted. but i think i can deal with it. my moms boyfriend said hes gonna take the motor and get everything together and get it running. my car is sitting in my gfs dads garage. used to be a service center so i have access to a small lift and some other things, just a pain in the ass because he a gmc sierra that needs head gaskets which is gonna take up some of my time for awhile, and he has his 77 vette in there, which needs some work done also. im waiting on some parts to come in and need some 2" flatbar, so probably nothing till tomorrow. might start wrestling the wiring harness...

Re: something ive always wanted to build..

well, i got rear seats from a 2 door blazer, cut them down to fit, and they are installed in the car. i also have most of the wiring harness done. im going to get the motor in a bit and get it together this week at work. ive actually been working on this alot and hope to have it running within the next 2-3 weeks. it may not be complete, but id like to have it started and running. it would make me feel a hell of alot better.

Re: something ive always wanted to build..

yeah mike, alot of people have been on me about getting it done, and i really would like to drive it at least once before this fall. i REALLY hope to drive it... and as far as OCMD i just dont like it. maybe if I were 21 again and wanting to party like crazy, maybe. but im not. i enjoy partying, but not with 21 year old meat heads that act like kids. just my opinion of it, everytime ive been there. and i didnt enjoy the car show because they have such limited parking, then you have a truck, a trailer, and a muscle car. thats 3 spaces of parking, compared to how packed it is when people bring 1 car...let alone take up 3 spots.

Re: something ive always wanted to build..

honestly it looks the same. ive been working on the wiring harness, theres actually like 4 seperate harness in this car. i have the chassis harness, then the stand alone tuned port injection harness, the dakota digital brain box for the gauge has all pre made sensors and cables for the engine, and then the air suspension so im trying to get it all in and make it nice and clean which has been very difficult. ive also built new brackets for the front seats to set the seat down lower. id like to install them tomorrow. i also picked up rear seats from a 2 door blazer and cut them down to make them fit. theres alot left to do on the car, but nothing as far as fabrication really. now its install engine, get it all wired, bleed the brakes. alot of stupid little things, but, theres A LOT of them. lol

i also need to make a new brake pedal. im going to modify an s10 brake pedal with brake switch so i can use the lock up converter in the tranny off the brake switch. i had an inline brake switch that just turned on the brake lights. i needed more options in the switch.

so if anyone has an s10/blazer brake pedal laying around and wants to sell, i really need one.

Re: something ive always wanted to build..

i also changed out the fuel pump. since i was originally going to run carbed, i had a TBI fuel pump, and a regulator near the carb, now since ive decided to go TPI i changed the fuel pump to a high PSI pump, its installed and plumbed. im hoping to bring the motor home monday or tuesday. im going to jimmy buffett on wednesday and leaving for vegas saturday morning for a week. not much going to happen this week. i also decided to frame in the trunk so i can put things in it. i built a frame out of 3/8 stainless tubing and im going to put wood inside. its shitty looking wood for a rat rod kinda feel. hope it comes out how i want.
