golf/jetta platform is transverse fwd, plentiful, cheap parts, simple cars, more reliable.

Re: >>SLAB: Slow Low And Bangin

I haven't updated this in a bit...

some random pics

I had a friend machine me an adapter for a beer tap shifter on my b&m box. I'll likely revise this design for a shorter handle...

I took the fender off to repair it

this will be the last picture you ever see of my truck on 17s...

winter mode

sometimes I like to reflect on my body work

I broke my wheels down, sold the hardware and am still waiting on a buyer for the adapters and lips. I am keeping the faces.

I snuck a pic of the interior

I'll post updates as often as I can. I can't wait to see this truck on it's new shoes!

Re: >>SLAB: Slow Low And Bangin

You'll see the new wheels once they're built. I'm currently having the new barrels and lips made one of a kind to my specs out of forged aluminum. Should be all done by February and then I will repaint my faces and powder coat the barrels that come to me raw. The lips will be polished.

Haha yup. My wheels should have been done already but they claim to have had a parts/ materials delay and are saying it'll be within the next couple weeks. I sometimes forget to update this thread...

the 4 tires on the bottom of the stack are for the s10, the top 4 are for my vw.

70welder is making me some one off hub centric rings so my wheels when completed will be hubcentric. The diagram on the bottom is the hub ring, the diagram on top is a redrill for my vw...

Excited to see what's to come! Freaked out a little bit when I scrolled too quickly and saw your front end all messed up, but then I saw it was from the previous incident.

Re: >>SLAB: Slow Low And Bangin

VR Wheels posted this photo, I should have them shortly so I can finish them up, seal them, and mount them to the truck. I also ordered a few other goodies, they'll be here eventually... I'm hoping for a really good 2015 show season with my friends!

Re: >>SLAB: Slow Low And Bangin

Before you ask, the reason why there are only 4 bolts on each wheel in the photos is because they arent finished yet. They're also not sealed for that same reason. I am going to sand blast and repaint my centers the same color before final assembly. I do not want to have to ever redo my wheels, might as well refresh the whole look rather than reuse my centers with 10,000 miles of wear and tear on them. I also still have to fix the damage from the side swipe haha

Dude, your attention to detail is rediculous. Makes the rest of us look like a bunch of lazy slobs. Seriously though, I can not wait to see this truck in person this show season! Keep it up.

18x8/10 same offset but staggered 1" smaller lips and barrels on the front.

Dude I'm so pumped!

I don't have much to update. I received my gen 2.8 NRG quick release in the mail the other day but haven't had the motivation to install it. I broke the wheels down and just got the barrels back from powder coat, I chose to powder them flat black for corrosion protection, durability, and hopefully make them easier to clean.

My first show is 4/18, if the snow and salt are all gone by then I should be in attendance with the BBS10. 2nd show is 4/19, and 3rd is 4/26, I pray that everything is thawed in time. I have no doubts the truck will be ready, I just hope that Obama can hold this weather off. I don't remember ever getting this much snow when Bush was in office.

I can't wait to see how it sits with her new shoes!

Re: >>SLAB: Slow Low And Bangin

That looks great. Although I'm not gonna lie, I had a moment of mild panic when you said that you had them PC black... I thought you meant the entire barrel. Then I scrolled down to the pictures and was able to breathe again. I can't wait to see how the new wheels look on the truck. Your truck has a very cool unique look to it that just works.
