Re: Shop Truck

Thats not what I meant. I already purchased all of my air management. Here is my incomplete list of things left to do.

It still needs front shocks.
Sway bar, but could be done later.
Needs brake lines done front and rear.
Firewall needs to be tubbed.
Brake booster and clutch master need to be relocated.
Need to put the stock 1980 frame horns back on and line up all the sheet metal.
Driveline tunnel needs to be finished.
Need to tub back of cab wall for stereo.
Need to figure out the gas filler neck.
Need to fix the bed mounts so they line up.
Finish the bed, lots of welding and grinding left.
Paint the bed floor.
Paint the frame, firewall, back of the cab, under the cab.
Exhaust needs to be pulled off when the axle is out and finished welding.
Generally finish welding everything.
Need to build my other upper arm.
Need to build cross shafts.
Needs new hub bearings and studs, and brakes up front.
New tie rods, and an alignment.

I know there is more I am forgetting. I have a list at the shop, its like 3 small sheets of paper.

Re: Shop Truck

So aside from the exhaust I haven't touched this thing in months.

But I got a little bug up my ass to mess with it, in the little spare time I have. I just moved too, so that ate up a lot of time. But I got the frame horns swapped back over to the stock ones and aligned the sheet metal, and adjusted the tilt on the bumper to my preference, so I took a camera pic.

Also picked up a few things for it. I got an automatic transmission, a stand alone ECU for it, an aluminum radiator, and a big shiny transmission cooler to go right behind the grill. Going to do an automatic swap, and looking to do a little to the motor at the same time. A scratch built header may be in its future at some point soon, but only time will tell.

Re: Shop Truck

You work is truly inspirational. I go look at my truck and think of threads like this and they remind me I've still got a LONG ways to go. If you keep raising the bar, frankly i don't think ill be able to catch up.

Re: Shop Truck

Lol thanks man, I appreciate that.

So got my AFCO radiator. Polished B&M oil cooler will go in front of it.

Tried mocking the front end up nothing really fits. Think a bumper mount is bent, and I probably need an early core support to run round headlights. Some mounts for the bezels aren't there, they don't line up with anything, and the grill fits terrible. And its an OEM one.

Re: Shop Truck

So the radiator is mounted. I need to run a straightener through the fins. It got pretty beat up in shipping. But I modified the lower hose and built mounts and a fan shroud. Need to add a port for the heater hose.

Simple radiator cover.

Wishing now that I had left the center hole out.

Ya its been too long. I'm trying to keep on it, and get at least a couple hours a week, but its difficult. Also doing a Stage 3 turbo setup on my Audi in the next month or so.

Re: Shop Truck

His builds were always so awesome and I wish he would come back but I swear I remember a thread in which he was pretty annoyed at something and stated that is why he isn't around much anymore (that was awhile ago and haven't seen him since). Or I could be way wrong.

Re: Shop Truck

I remember he kept getting pissed cause people were asking the questions instead of reading. But absolutely amazing builds. I can't fab like that but at least it gave me something to measure against.
