S10wannabee's truck project

well, i didn't took me long to find a S10, today i went out to look for one, i was over at my sisters house and i knew of a S10 nearby at a local car-dealer.so we went over there to have a look

the truck ran great, looks good, it has a few dings and scratches, but thats acceptable, i can pick it up on Monday, so Monday there will be more picture's, its a 2.2- 5 speed

now its time to start gathering info on how to airbag the S10

me happy..

Re: S10wannabee's truck project

Looks good, and www.suicidedoors.com is the only site you should need for bagging the truck.
Hope you have a welder, although they do have bolt-on kits. Personally, I'd prefer welded.

Re: S10wannabee's truck project

i think me and suicidedoors.com are going to be good friends.. i checked their site, bit they have indeed everything i need, just got to save up the money, but that's no problem, just a matter of time, and yes i am from europe, the Netherlands to be exact..

Welding is not a problem, i have a good welder, i also have 2 Mustangs, 1 of them is made in Protouring style, and has a 4-link rear suspension i made myself, because for this type, there's nothing available (its from '72) also the front suspension is re-inforced, upgraded and such.. to other 1 is my next project, when this Mustang is done..

so yes, im looking forward to cut it up

thanks!

the black thing behind the tire is the fill-plug for the LPG, it runs on Liquified Petroleum Gas, but that system is going out the door this weekend.

it runs fine on it, but the roadtax is huge when it runs on LPG, so only when you drive a lot , then you will benefit from it because of the low cost of a gallon of LPG , but in my case its cheaper to run on normal petrol..

Re: S10wannabee's truck project

i get a lot off "talk" about the colour , but personally i think its a great color, especially for the future , when it will be bagged, and its gonna be sittin on the ground. the colour will be great for it..,

maybe a 2-tone in the future, the top half silver or something.. and the lower part the original pink colour..

we'll see..

here you go..

it has 2004 Mustang Cobra brakes all around, incl. hydraboost, engine is a 351C 4v with 4-speed, 3.89 gears,4 linked rear with QA1 coil-overs,..

still a work in progress as you can see, but its getting there..

but some more news on the air-setup, at the end of next month, i will order a complete setup for the S10.. front/rear setup, bags, notch,3 link, air-management, everything, a buddy of mine is gonna ship it overhere, im gonna order everything @ SD.. seems like they make great stuff

Re: S10wannabee's truck project

thanks on the Mustang,.. i have it for 9 years now. and still working on it

and a small update, just got off the phone with SD. they will ship me most of the parts, just all of the mechanical parts, i choose to go with the 4-link setup, its not that i don't trust the 3-link setup, that looks great, but the 4-link look better to me, it will require a new fueltank but that's ok the rest of the parts are front cups ,shock relocating brackets fr/rr,Notch and the rear bagbrackets.

and i already modified the truck, i took the big mirrors off and some mirrors from a 1991 T-bird were put on,.. it required some trimming here and there, but they fit and look good.

i will post some pics soon,

next week i will start pulling the truck apart and prepare the frame for the work to come...

when the cost of shipping will be easy on the cc, i will also look for all the "airparts" ,i saw some nice stuff @ AVS
