Re: Ratted Dime

pulled the front off and took off every thing that was not needed.

floor board was not that bad considering it's a 1982
looked over the rear to fig. out what was needed and to be fixed.

leafs have to be replaced with 3" drop leafs and do the 2" drop blocks as well.

Re: Ratted Dime

did the typical headers. that prob one of the only things on this that will be typical.

put the cap back on and had some more issues but i fixed that by trimming the breather down just a little. btw this is a rat rod type so looks don't really matter. lol
(hold on i'll get it just a sec. i hate it when the pic comes in to BIG.)

Re: Ratted Dime

Ok thanks to some good friends Ando for the 3" drop leafs & i cant remember who i got the drop coils from. but hay it was a long time ago. any ways. the basics is this i pulled off every thing and put the newer parts on to get a 3/5 drop. the dime was all ready drop the cheap why. i in a way i just drop it 1" lower all around but it's done the right why now. The coils that i got from that guy where suppose to be 3" drop coils but they where only 1" drop coils. that sucks but o-well. I'll get the 3" drops later on.

The old leafs. yea i think they needed to be replaced.

when i start the frame was level with the top block

trying to tell the difference

not much in the front.

Re: Ratted Dime

ok, currently iv been trying to find some seats for my rat.
i've hunted j-yards and farmer j-yards too. done the e-bay and all that stuff.
what i'm looking for is a set of bomber seats or old fiber glass seats.
every thing i found cost why too much.

Re: Ratted Dime

the shifter is out of a late 70's camaro. i took all the stuff off to expose all the linkage. thats how it is going to stay.
I'm going to put rubber bed covering in the floor boards. like that rhino liner stuff.
exhaust will be after headers go into 24" glass packs then turn down.
door panels will be covered with old blue jeans.
system will be a cassette player and a good sub.
yes i said a cassette player, why? Why not!
paint will be primer gray with some pin striping.
wheels will be steel wheels with hub caps.

Re: Ratted Dime

ok the other thing im working on is the hood.
i'm in the process of getting a non dinted up hood from another guy here on the form.
The plan is to strip all the paint and primer and leave it bear metal with a clear coat.
so fare i'm still have rust show up but i'll fig. some thing out.
