I had a project thread on here but i cannot seem to find it. anyway i have had the truck since oct of 07. its a 2001 blazer xtreme in summit white. my plans are to make this a clean and simple blazer nothing to fancy on the outside. as of right now the motor is being pulled due to either an intake gasket failure or a popped head gasket.
Plans as of right now for the motor are to do a complete built motor. i may down the road boost it but thats a big maybe right now.
Body has seen better days. I will most likely be pulling the body off the frame and cleaning up the frame and painting it black and also will be installing all my drop parts and notching my frame for the drop i will be running. Im also going to finsh up shaving my tailgate. i will also be installing ss mirriors and a 2" cowl hood along with my grille inserts, clear corners and diamond clear headlights. i will be stripping all the paint off the truck and starting from scratch.the paint will be a bright white with blue and white pearl and blue metal flake.
Interior is going to get a face lift as well. im going to redo all the seats black with white inserts and im also going to try and find a black dash and center console.
Audio is going to be simple 2 jl audio w7 12's and 1 1500 watt amp. and a 7" screen in the dash.
ill have pics up tomorrow when i head up to my buddies garage.
Lol 4 guys pulling a motor and Trans out took us about 4 hours to get everything out. Im heading out in a few minutes to strip the AC box and get the wiring moved. So I can start figuring what I need to move and what I am deleting. Big thanks to the guys who came over yesterday to help me get this really moving
im stuck on this damn brake booster, i have 3 out of 4 bolts out. and tips with getting the last one out. i have a 15mm with swivel on it just cant turn it.
Brake booster out finally. have a few rust issues to fix. Plus the bay is getting shaved. Anyway completely stripped and ready to startcutting to lay 20's up front
got some parts in yesterday from rxforspeed. picked up the pp steering linkage kit minus 1 adjuster, going to buy the billet aluminum ones anyway. and an aim digital gauge with senders for 200 bucks shipped. dont have any pics yet ill get some tomorrow.
thanks i havent really gotten much done with it being cold and such here. ever since my idiot cousin decieded he was going to fix our garage roof(there is now a huge hole in it and everytime it rains its like a lake in there).it doesnt pay to have the propane heater running since it never gets warm. im hoping to have the rear and tank dropped out this weekend but i doubt it will happen
i will be out there tomorrow after i go look at a bodied taco for a friend of mine who lives up in ct. i really need to get some jack stands since mine got stolen out of my garage.
no real progress has been made other then me buying jackstands to replace the ones that i had stolen and i finally bit the bullet and bought myself a welder.
yes that is a 6.0 in the back of a pt cruiser. i also paid 90 bucks for the motor. following this on how they did they build minus the intake and pistons
sorry for my horrible grammer im currently on valium for a back injury and feeling pretty good. let me try that again. the motor is in the back of a pt cruiser which was fun in itself. Im following a build from truckin to build a 500hp lq4 for under 5k. so far i say im off to a good start with only paying 90 bucks for this motor and it was already pulled out of the truck laying on the ground. all we had to was hoist it onto the wagon and put it in the car.
Got my motor stripped down its not in the best condition so its definitely getting rebuilt after seeing antifreeze or water in 6 of 8 cylinders. This thing also had about 100 pounds of rust and oil on the outside of the motor. And the rust was so bad it actually broke the dipstick tube when I was loosening the bolt to take the heads off. Motors going off to the machine shop in a few weeks once I get the crank out. Had to stop today because the good old back couldn't do much more of the cold and I started to go into spasms. Anyway here are some pics. And one of the old lady just because I can

Sucks but it its getting sent to the machine shop and all new internals are going in it. I wasn't expecting a perfect motor and figured id have to do some stuff to it. This just wasn't what I had in mind.

Actually got some good progress tonight on this thing. All the front suspension is off. And I started mocking up my sd blazer notches. Hopefully this weekend ill get those tacked in so I can go out to the junk yard Saturday and pick up my exploder 8.8 rear and set my pinion angle up. Also im going to be ordering my control arms in about a week. Going with mmw arms. And then going to be ordering the rest of my parts to bag this thing. I did just pick up a set of cups re7 bags and brand new avs popper kit for $170 shipped from a guy in another chapter of my club. Pics to come after this weekend
