PM sent Phil, don't want to get in trouble with LRD by posting too many dealer prices publically.

Re: Project: What am I doing?? AGAIN!!!

Ya'll are gonna have to make a big sign to put on display by our trucks that says "Caution, People with HEART PROBLEMS or DIAREAH Should Stay Clear of This Area"

When we get it figured out as to who wants what and when, we can start to put together and order if we go that route. I can either get them shipped direct to you, or again I visit my folks in the states every couple months, we can get them shipped there and I'll bring them back with me.

Re: Project: What am I doing?? AGAIN!!!

Good to be back in the garage.....

Hood off, fenders off,,, bumper off, grille & lights off.

Rad support is next, then I'll put in the hydro boost while everything is opened up.

I'll probably put the TB rad support in then.

I have to modify the blower box, so maybe then would be a good time.... prolly make

it out of sheet metal,, or if I can find some abs plastic!

Ha ah ha,,,, back in my garage as in "back to work on my stuff"

Remember though,, I'm not done with yer shit yet!!!!

Yay,,,,

Got the hydro boost in, plumbed up and filled,, just have to bleed it, and I know there is a procedure on here somewhere !

Rad support is ready to come out.

Driver's side upper control arm switched out. SD for SD, but my other set had the beefy Xmember on them. So there!

Called insurance today again,, for some reason, it went up! And I wanted to negotiate down....

I have a wheel alignment set for next week and Imma driving it there, yippeee!
Oh, and an A/C recharge,, so I better get the blower box done too.

Re: Project: What am I doing?? AGAIN!!!

Blower box almost done, just have to cap off the front a bit, weld up all the seams and grind grind grind.

It clears the tire laid out by over an inch and when I hit full sides with the drivers side up, it's about 1/6 away, but I'm going to put a little angle peice in there just to make sure.

Pics up soon.

Re: Project: What am I doing?? AGAIN!!!

Pics of the blower box.

Have to cut the hole in the side peice that goes to the core, make a piece for the front the close it in, and I'm goint to angle the bottom front just a bit for a smidge more clearance.

Once that is done it's on to the TB front end.

Re: Project: What am I doing?? AGAIN!!!

Blower box all welded up and test fitted.

This way the electrical connector was at the bottom and may present some clearance issues.

So, turned around and all is good.!!

Breather tube....

Breather tube hits a bit,, but I wont drive at that angle, so it's good. Lots of clearance for the box.

Smoothed down, etch primed and seam sealed,, just have to give a few coats of black paint and then install.

Lots of clearance at full side..

Passenger side upper control arm switched out.
Rad support changed to TB one.

TB lights and grille in,, but grille only for fitting...

Tomorow night the floor shifter will go in. Steering wheel may go in.

Have to get pig tails for the lights, then mount the fenders, front bumper and hood for fitting.

Also had to weld up some new mounts for the computer as the TB rad support was off the other truck...

Hee hee hee... and just to remind you of the color.....

Ill have to see how it rides after all this shit is done and then decide.

And yes, it is looking good Bob.

I might go to MJs but sans truck. It's one thing to be able to park the trailer in the bush and drive it, but to push it in sucks ass.

Wow, your making excellent progress Bob. Thats gonna look sick in that color of green. If I've got the S-Tang back together, we'll try to hit the Monkey Joes show as well. Its just a couple minutes from the old lady's work. Worst case scenario, maybe we'll just stop in with the Charger and get a sneak peak at things.

Re: Project: What am I doing?? AGAIN!!!

Finally got to work on truck today,,,, baby has my time now, fussy fussy.....

So, trying to get the TB front end buttoned up....

figured out the light buckets were too low for the bumper to go on, so I raised them up

Drivers side needed to come way up....

then I noticed,,, the ****ing frame is bent up front!!!!!

I knew the truck had a minor accident, but I never even noticed it,, It's not bad, the front horns are out up and down by about 1 inch,, not that much when it comes to frames.

So, I'll have to take the truck up to the shop,, tie down one side to the floor, then jack the other side until the horns are even,,,

minor setback, but damn!!!

Other than that,,, natta!

Gots to get a lot done for next Sunday for Hawkesbury.

Re: Project: What am I doing?? AGAIN!!!

You lucky SOB. That happened to me with a big ceramic insulator and it hit the wheel and shoved it between my bed and frame, so now my bed has a bend in it. I usually use ratchet straps anyways, but wasn't going far.

Re: Project: What am I doing?? AGAIN!!!

You somehow manage to drive an hour and not have a roll of electrical tape fall off the tongue of your trailer (highway included) and yet you can't make a 2.5 minute drive from the beer store to your house without a case falling through the notch?

Bwahaha.

Re: Project: What am I doing?? AGAIN!!!

Thanks for the complimets guys!!

I agree,, that color green is going to look titay!

So, I jacked up the truck and shimmed the hanger bearing and the vibration got a wee better.

Then the other day the whole truck started shaking like ****ing mad!

So, jacked it up again today and the is a shit load of play in the rear double carden joint and that is most definatly causing the major vibration.

I took out thed rear driveshaft and the rear double joint is really sloppy.

I don't think new u joints solve this issue. I may have to have a driveshaft made up with single u joints. ****.

Minor update, not involving the truck, but will help....

I built my own crane gantry. Super beefy, should be able to life a ton easily.

I got a 1320 lb electric cable hoist to go with it... pics up later.

Re: Project: What am I doing?? AGAIN!!!

Not much done to truck except got some new wheels....

20 inch Camaro 20x8 up front 20x9 in the rear.

No tires yet...

I was on Discount Tire Direct and some Yokoham Parada X
were about $790 for 4 tires,, not too bad.
245/45/20 up front 275/40/20 for the rear.

I was also talking to Adaptit USA for spacer adapters.
Fronts would be 5 X 120.65 to 5 X 120 with a thickness of 1.3 inches
Rears would be 5 X 120.65 to 5 X 120 with a thickness of 1 inch.
Adapters with new studs for the Camaro wheels would put me at $270.00

I think with the Camaro Synergy green paint,, these wheels are gonna look great!

Re: Project: What am I doing?? AGAIN!!!

I will definately have to switch beds now for the rear clearance, and also redo a bunch of stuff under the hood along with tubbing the firewall... which is going to be a bit of a bitch since I sound deadened the firewall on the inside!

I will have to redo my blower box again, which means my custom box may be up for sale... and try to figure something out.

Relocate the fuse/relay box again!

Delays,, delays....

Re: Project: What am I doing?? AGAIN!!!

I officially hate my brain.

So, my alarm/starter combo was on the fritz, not activating my solenoids for my doors.. so I was cutting it out and replacing it with the Spal brain for the solenoids and other activations,, and then I got to looking and thinking,,,

Since I'll be putting the 20's on and tubbing the fire wall, now would be a good time to relocate a few things,, like the fuse/relay box, again!!! and the computer,,Again!!!

And the locations that I have planned are crazy and going to take a lot of work, but the engine bay will be a lot cleaner and lots of room for the 20's and my new blower box design.

Re: Project: What am I doing?? AGAIN!!!

Good luck with that, defiantely looking forward to it!!! Wheels look good on there, but would have figured they would have been the right bolt pattern and wouldn't have needed spacers! Are you going to a fleetside bed or widening the stepside a bit???

And when you decide to sell that blower box, if no one else has already got to you about it, let me know, may be interested for the right price!!

Re: Project: What am I doing?? AGAIN!!!

So, from my other truck, this bed will go on the 4 door.
It will dump as well and is all ready to go for the 20's!

The bed with the green tailgate that's on the 4 door now will be turned into a bagged trailer and will have some goodies in it.

I have two 5 gal. tanks and 2 450 comps from the other truck that will go in the trailer along with another battery.
The trailer when hooked up will be a support vehicle sort of to the 4 door.

I have another alternator to hook up to the truck to make it a dual set up for more power too.

I will have some tools, air tools, jack, extra bags, shocks, spare tire and misc. parts for long hauls and going to shows
and enough room for cooler, chairs and whatever else.

Also I will be on the lookout for a set of matching Camaro wheels for the trailer too.

Lots o work!

Was whacking my brain about my turning radius and my shocks....

was thinking of some crazy shit idea about shocks on top of the upper control arm and making a bar across the engine and bla bla bla....

Dur............... so now I have to do it.... I hate my brain sometimes.

Re: Project: What am I doing?? AGAIN!!!

Hokay.....

Here is the adapter spacer mounted on the truck.
They give you the correct nuts to hold the adapter on too.

As I mentioned, the inner hub mount on the Camaro wheel needed to be larger to fit over the bearing hub of the truck.
I just used a router with a bearing straight bit and it only took about 2 minutes and it worked 100%.....

Once the inner hub race was made larger it fit on perfect. I would imagine that there isn't a shit load of clearance between the dust cap and the Chevy logo cap of the Camaro wheel,, but it went on.

I had to use my lock nuts to hold the wheel on as the nuts for my 17's didn't have enough angle,, so I will have to get new ones for the Camaro wheels.

Laid out and plenty of room to the fender,,,, now when i mounted tires, that's a whole other story... like firewall mods... moving more shit.. bla bla bla....

Brakes look tiny,,, but with the 20's and tires, they weigh less than my 17's so I think they will do.
